Does anyone know how to get in touch with the McLane DJ to suggest a song or two be played at the upcoming game?
Or that they not blast the music during kickoffs. It's not even worth it to do Sic'Em Bears any more because you can't hear it over whatever rap-crap is blaring.tedE said:

The people at BYU were so enamored by our kick off "Sic'em Bears" cheer/yell/chant. I assumed every one did that.. they did not. But i agree, i think its fun to hear on TV, and in person. Not lil whomever rapping about cars, money and loose womenSIC EM 94 said:PaperBear89 said:Or that they not blast the music during kickoffs. Amen…doing the "Sic 'em Bears" is basically nonexistent these days, and that sucks.

I don't mind the addition of the DJ. It brings in more variety and probably plays to the musical tastes of the students. What I do mind is when both the DJ and band(s) play at the same time. That is just noise and my ears suffer. Seems like a little coordination would create a better fan experience. And I agree that the fans should carry the kickoffs with our Sic Em Bears. One other thing, why do we practice our back and forth Baylor Bears before the game, but never do it during the game?

Not really…more like young punk doesn't give a sh*t about a cool Baylor tradition. A tradition that has been around a lot longer than you have.

Funny…so count you in the camp that wants to do away with the "Sic 'em Bears" tradition?

Jesus didn't care too much for traditions on this Earth. Neither should we if they are now obsolete.
Tradition would say we need to dress up in a sport coat and a tie to watch a game. That's stupid. You don't dress like a European in Texas where we are parallel with Egypt, India and the Middle East. You dress for the weather you live in, not the weather you came from.
Marching bands, cheerleaders, all obsolete because of modern technology. Use technology if it's better than what we had before, don't use it if it's not.
It won't be long until there's a live DJ on the berm with a DJ board hyping up the crowd. It won't be long until there's laser lights and all the stuff you see at a concert. The new experience will be football + a live concert.
If you stick to your traditions too long, eventually the students just stay at home on TikTok instead of watching your boring game their granddad watched when he was alive.
Let me state it clearly: evolve or die gramps.

There's room for both-- they do need to coordinate better though-- like during a 3min TV timeout, band gets 1:30 and then get the hype moving with the DJ for the remainder. They post how long the timeouts are going to be on the field. This year's DJ is really good. He also plays Cowboys' games. DJElusive is his name. Though I may not know or like all he's spinning, the kids do and that's all that matters. You get kids into the game, you get everyone into the game.hodedofome said:

There are so many responses to this but it starts with Jesus and ends with gramps and it says everything you need to know about what an ass you are.hodedofome said:
