The only way to get rid of stadium DJ would have him blast his rap during that embarrassing pregame prayer. Problem solved.
Some folks were actually busy watching a football game.T-REX said:u clearly don't attend games because we have had a dj on the berm with a deck all season.....hodedofome said:
Jesus didn't care too much for traditions on this Earth. Neither should we if they are now obsolete.
Tradition would say we need to dress up in a sport coat and a tie to watch a game. That's stupid. You don't dress like a European in Texas where we are parallel with Egypt, India and the Middle East. You dress for the weather you live in, not the weather you came from.
Marching bands, cheerleaders, all obsolete because of modern technology. Use technology if it's better than what we had before, don't use it if it's not.
It won't be long until there's a live DJ on the berm with a DJ board hyping up the crowd. It won't be long until there's laser lights and all the stuff you see at a concert. The new experience will be football + a live concert.
If you stick to your traditions too long, eventually the students just stay at home on TikTok instead of watching your boring game their granddad watched when he was alive.
Let me state it clearly: evolve or die gramps.
our dj is employed by the cowboys and has a strong track record working for multiple schools b4 & pro teamsDia del DougO said:
Maybe we need an NIL deal to recruit a better student DJ.

Blame Baylor for the leash they put on him. Had a convo at my tailgate yesterday b4 the game with him. He is doing what he can with what he is given. We can also blame Baylor for the fan song vote choices available. Eric church has no place being played at a football game let alone when you are trying to hype up the crowd and team. I'm game atmosphere issues begin & end with the Baylor, not the dj that the cowboys love and let do whatever he wants which results in a great product. He djs outside the stadium during pregame

Not really…more like young punk doesn't give a sh*t about a cool Baylor tradition. A tradition that has been around a lot longer than you have.
U can still do the chant. I do it every single kick off. The DJ blaring music to hype up the team and fans doesn't prevent you from standing up and rasing your bear claw. But keep yelling at the clouds.
yea because most dont get up and do it.SIC EM 94 said:T-REX said:Ok boomer.SIC EM 94 said:Karab said:

Blare the music before kickoff…totally fine with that. Is it asking too much to stop for 15 seconds, while the fans do "Sic 'em", as the ball is being kicked?

Maybe I'm getting old but sometimes I'd like to discuss the game with my friend or family member sitting next to me. I have to yell in order to do this. It's so loud all the time. I just want it to stop. The natural sounds of the game are lost. It's just so loud. I don't even know why the band shows up. A couple of well placed songs is all you need. Game experience has declined for me.

It's threads like these that make me realize that I probably am the only Baylor grad that dated a dancer for Tina Turner, got so drunk at a rave in London I was sick for two days and helped bail Willie Nelson out of jail,
But really, tell me more about what kind of music everyone likes.
Looking back, it was the Willie moment that I cherish the most. He didnt give a DAMN.BearlyBeloved said:Not impressed.TellMeYouLoveMe said:

UNLESS you had:
- Dated Tina Turner herself
- Been the organizer of the rave, and
- Busted Willie Nelson out of jail
That's not what I see. How can we see such different things? I think most, not all, get up for SicEm. They do in the sections around me.T-REX said:yea because most dont get up and do it.SIC EM 94 said:T-REX said:Ok boomer.SIC EM 94 said:Karab said:

It's too loud for too long. And I continue to be baffled as to why they can't solve the issue of the band and DJ playing at the same time.hodedofome said:Big_Pumpin said:

This was your experience 40 years ago and it was legit. It is not the experience of today. If we keep trying to do the same thing that's been done for 80 years, when you are dead there won't be anyone left to go to the game.
Students want/expect more. You can complain about that or you can see that people are trying to keep the game relevant for another 80 years. It will not be around if it never evolves to what people want these days. Look at empty stadiums and new stadiums built smaller than the previous one for the trend.
True, but the music was better this week.coldhardtruth said:
