It should be noted that Urban Meyer is a UC grad.
Shaw sort of said things on the way out that make it sound like it is more difficult to be a HC at Stanford now than it was before. He specifically mentioned NIL issues and the portal. Note he did not criticize Stanford just the current way things are at the college level. Aranda may want to pay attention to what he said.boognish_bear said:Jack Bauer said:

Yep….I could feel this one coming. Of course I have no idea what is in Aranda's head… But I could see this as one that would be tempting for him. Hopefully not.
Heck even their AD said it in a post about 5 back where the next HC could dabble in the portal but they won't build their roster with it. It isn't the Stanford way. Seems like that is announcing to any new hire you will have one hand behind your back because the school won't allow you to claim a bunch of athletes out of the portal.PartyBear said:Shaw sort of said things on the way out that make it sound like it is more difficult to be a HC at Stanford now than it was before. A source confirms that Deion Sanders has visited the USF facilities this week and a major sticking point for him accepting the head coach position is to have a major say in the construction of the new on-campus stadium.

Cincinnati in the Big 12 is a better job than Iowa State IMO. That program has a much higher ceiling and better recruiting grounds.PartyBear said:
That seems like a lateral move for Matt Campbell. Also I'm not sure he would do as well as Fickel.

Breaking: Texas State football set to hire G.J. Kinne, sources tell @CravenMike. Kinne, a Texas native who played at Tulsa, is 10-1 in his first season in charge at UIW.

With the location and the new facilities, this could be a championship job. But it has just three winning seasons since 2005.

Harrell has experience at UNT and performed well there as OC. I think he'd be a good hire for them if they want to maintain some continuity scheme-wise.cowboycwr said:Interesting names there.boognish_bear said:The North Texas job profile.

Riley seems reasonable based on his performance this year and at SMU.
The other two not so much. Fuente did great at memphis but not so well at VT. So maybe they think he can recreate what he did at a small school.
GH is weird because he didn't do anything special at his last two schools....
