In the Web: What "They" are saying about Baylor in Week 11

Baylor (6-3, 4-2) is coming off arguably their best two-game stretch in program history. After defeating Texas Tech in Lubbock for the first time since 1990, the Bears went into Norman last week and beat the Sooners on their home turf for the second time ever.

Unbeknownst to the public, the Bears had been hit by the flu prior to their game against Oklahoma. One of the most notable areas where Baylor was impacted was the running back position.

Richard Reese had been giving defenses nightmares on the ground, but the flu led to an early exit for Reese after four carries. Baylor called upon fan favorite Craig “Sqwirl” Williams to get the job done, and boy did he deliver.

The junior set career highs in carries (25), yards (192) and TDs (2). It was also the first 100-yard rushing outing of Sqwirl’s career.

Sqwirl wasn’t the only Bear to have a career night against the Sooners. On the defensive side of the ball, Devin Lemear had a career-high eight tackles and an interception. It was also the second consecutive game that Lemear has come away with a pick.

Despite all of the recent success on the field, there was a lot of chatter about the lack of fans expected to attend Saturday’s game at McLane Stadium against No. 23 K-State (6-3, 4-2). After Baylor AD Mack Rhoades expressed his frustration with the attendance issue on 365 Sports earlier this week, things quickly changed.

When Vegas released the opening lines for Saturday’s game, Baylor held the advantage over the Wildcats.

Baylor has dominated the series with K-State as of late, taking the past four games with their last loss to the Wildcats coming on the road in 2017. Here is a look at the analytical projections for this week’s affair, along with some predictions from the staff at Football Scoop.
