TCU also played a much more difficult schedule. Bolstering defensive stats with wins over Hawaii, Colorado St, UConn, Rutgers, and Indiana is not impressive. TCU can win this game. Michigan has not faced a QB with Duggan's scrambling ability combined with the weapons at his disposal. If Michigan struggles getting home on Duggan and the game turns into a backyard game with him scrambling around and chucking it up to those big fast receivers TCU will win.
For sure - if the game turns into a backyard pitch and catch scenario then TCU might have a chance, but I highly doubt it. Overall, Michigan's SOS is not as difficult and they have not faced anyone like duggan. TCU does have many weapons at their disposal and IF they come out hitting on all cylinders - then they have a chance. Michigan has played good teams this year and blew them out - home against Penn State and AT Ohio State which averages more points than TCU, and has a deeper receiving core plus CJ stroud.
TCU has a chance to win this game, but to be a championship caliber team - they will need to not only put up points but also play better defense. Let's be honest here - TCU has played several games close and they're going to need more than being a second half team this time. Plus, this is a GREAT matchup for Michigan. They're a team that pounds the ball and wears teams out. Don't be surprised if this game gets out of hand.
