McCall is a pipe dream. He's the best QB to enter the portal and it's not even close.

Malik apparently knows he can play Receiver in the NFL but wants to continue to try and play QB In college. Tell him he can play both here. We can run all kinds of hybrids with him and Shapen.

My point was simply that he's not coming here.

It's not worth much but on Malik Hornsby 247 recruiting profile the scout who scouted him has him projected 2-3 rd pick and his college comparison is none other than RG3 if he can throw the deep ball half as good as RG3 our offense will be killer

He also wants to give QB a full shot before playing WR full time. He is a 10.6 guy and will run track at Nebraska. pic.twitter.com/Ch1uARCHm0

Isn't the qb from Ole Miss still available? Luke Altmyer
Relatively slight of frame quarterback though not to a concerning degree. Enough height and frame that has added good weight between junior and senior seasons. Controlled, accurate passer that plays with command in the intermediate game. Good touch with the ability to feather throws over second level defenders or make red zone pylon throws. Light active feet in the pocket. Highlight film shows eyes and feet married up through progressions. Has some outside the pocket ability and makes some slick plays against his body and off script. While he shows pace on throws in the middle of the field and in the short and intermediate areas of the field, he doesn't show an elite arm on the big throws. Limited yards per attempt relative to the elite national quarterbacks. Despite really good combine athleticism, does not engage as dual-threat runner. We like as an ascending prospect that will be a Power Five starter who possesses some NFL upside. Further validation of physical tools could point to an even higher ceiling.74Bear said:

Is Shapen going to accept competition or bolt? What about his ego?

If it's what is perceived to be an upgrade I would think he would leave
this is not true. plenty of schools would jump at the opportunity to take Shapen. honestly.Married A Horn said:boognish_bear said:Waco1947 said:

Nobody would take him. He'll stay or lose his paid education.

Watching those highlights above I got some RG3 vibes....but every highlight was a run. Apparently he really struggles with accuracy. Not sure how much room for growth he has in that area.

Here is a list of QBs that had a worse QBR than Shapen this year that have found a P5 team to join through the portal.
Devin Leary - 55.3 > Kentucky
Graham Mertz - 52.5 > Florida
Donovan Smith - 48.7 > Houston
Kedon Slovis - 45.9 > BYU
Jeff Sims - 43.4 > Nebraska
Phil Jurkovec - 36.1 > Pitt
I'm convinced that if Shapen played for another team some of you would be clamoring for him to come here.

I think the offensive coaching here is just bad. So I'm not really going to disagree with you.
