Looks like Rhule is going back to his winning formula of grabbing a Texas HS football coach to be on staff.

Bob Wager has coached Texas HS football for 30 years and has been at Arlington Martin for 17 years.

CMR has just reopened Texas as legitimate recruiting ground for the Huskers. Say what you will about him, but that's just flat shrewd.

Perhaps, but it is one thing to place a Texas recruit in a Texas school or at least one that plays a bunch of Texas schools. It is another to place one into an icebox hundreds or thousands of miles away from his family being able to see him. Not to factor in that when Nebraska was recently getting recruits out of Texas, they were playing in the Big XII and were a national power. They are nothing near a national power at this point.

Time will tell if going to the well a second time works.....or not. Certainly worth the try.

Blackie, in a month or two some here will be saying this guy should be Aranda's successor.

At least a good start if nothing else. IMO, Nebraska's downfall started when they could no longer recruit Texas. I know this only 1 guy. Time will tell if it works. But I think it's a good move.

Got to give Rhule credit, he has a strategy and is executing it. He plans to hit the old Nebraska recruiting grounds hard.

The only move he hasn't done is to hire the Dad of next year's top ranked QB!

they lost 5 games by less than a TD....could have 9-3 vs 4-8....Regardless, it'll be interesting to see how many games Rhule lets them lose in 2023...

Also, they don't even play teams from Texas, except UTEP at home in 2024. They do play La Tech at home in a couple years and have home & home games with both OU & OSU in the 2030s. Texas HS players who want to play close to home at least a couple times a year won't have that chance if they go to Nebraska.

Target 15-20 Texas kids on the roster at any given time. That will do it.
