Agree that many sports are divided into haves and have-nots. Only the NFL really pushes for parity.

The Big 12 is embarrassing. And it will be unless they start recruiting NFL prospects that are successful for years in NFL.
It's the only American sport that openly fights parity. The blue bloods get the best players and that's the way everyone who runs the sport wants it.
There are lots of ways for small market teams to compete with big spenders in baseball. They do so every year. And there have been a ton of rules put in place since the '90s to promote parity.
The Yankees have been anything but consistent the past 20 years. They haven't played in a World Series since 2009 and have played in only one since 2004.Ghostrider said:1 team…. Only a fool would question the parity of a sport that has seen two-thirds of its franchises compete for titles in a 22-year span.

And until 2017, the Dodgers were one of the most consistent underachievers in baseball.
Baseball isn't equitable in spending, but it rewards those who run their organizations well. The Rays have been as consistent as either of those teams you just mentioned. And the Marlins, Royals and Braves have as many World Series titles as either since 2000.

It is pretty refreshing to recognize that TCU has been proven by the playoff to be a far superior team than teams such as Ohio State, Alabama and Tennessee.
