TCU is lucky they are expanding the playoffs as they would never get in a 4 team playoff system again unless undefeated and they had no choice but to put them in over 2 loss teams.
Beat downs can happen. TCU did beat the B10 champ in the play off to get to that game. The game did nothing to keep TCU out in the future. ND has been beat down on that stage in the CFP era and so has Bama so has Ohio State. Not as badly as TCU but TCU isn't the first to get embarrassed by losing by at least several TDs.
Beat down? This was the biggest loss in bowl history for the national championship game. It is the game every tuned into and turned off by half-time.
Like Baylor two years ago, TCU had a blessed season. All balls bounced their way and they should have dropped 2-3 regular season games. The fact that KState beat them in the B12 championship (and was slaughtered by 'Bama) told everyone what was going to happen in the final game.
They will come back down to earth next year and suddenly people will start talking about Dykes not being a great coach again. Watch.
