TCU is our daddy in football. There really is no question.
Currently yes, but there have been periods of dominance back & forth by both sides since this rivalry started; Tcu's recent edge of only 5 games has come in the last 8 years.
Starting back at the beginning Baylor dominated the Frogs, with Tcu not getting their 1st win until the 11th game played. Then the tide turned in the Frogs favor for some years before the Bears got back to their winning ways & took 7 out of 8 games, followed a few years later by a 5-1-1 run. The late 50's into the 60's saw good times for Tcu while BU started to sink under a few diff coaches before hitting rock bottom under Bill Beall. Grant Teaff's arrival in Waco turned the rivalry heavily back to the Bears side as the Legendary coach went 16-5 vs the Frogs. Shortly after, the SWC split and the rivalry came to a screeching halt. Since its revival in 2006, Tcu has been the pretty princess with an 11-4 record vs good ole BU. History tells me the Bears will soon return to dominance as Tcu's recent streak (& luck) has just about run out.

They do have to wear 66-7 or whatever it was forever. The ultimate sister kisser

That… plus it doesn't bode well for the Big12 going forward being considered for the Playoffs, even with the new format.

Getting considered for the CFPis fine because the Big 12 champ just has to be a top 6 conference champion, but if of course doesn't bode well for the Big 12's chances at a national title - however - that's been the case for awhile now and the losses of UT/OU further contribute to that.

Yeah, watch. The SEC and B10 will make arguments that the SEC deserves 3 each, we will be fighting for last 2!

The Big 12 just needs to get it done on the field. For the sake of the 2024 schedule (first year of expanded CFP), the Big 12 has P5 games against Utah (x2), Oregon, Arkansas (x2), Illinois, Pitt (x2), Penn State, Iowa, Arizona, Stanford and Florida. In the grand scheme of FBS football, that's not necessarily murderer's row, and so the Big 12 must win the majority of those games if it wants to be taken seriously when it comes to CFP selection opportunities.

With a ceiling of mid 4 star players. Gonna be a tough order to win consistently against higher rated players. It is not the starters, it is the depth that is the issue. A 2021 can happen, but will it matter or be like Boise St in thecsay?
That's fair, but I don't see a reasonable reason why the Big 12 could not split each of the two Utah, Arkansas, and Pitt games, split Oregon/Penn State, and split Florida/Iowa (thereby winning 5 out of the 13 out of conference P5 games) if it would like to be taken seriously. If it could do just that, the other out of conference P5 games could (almost) be all losses and the overall situation wouldn't be -that- bad.

We need to be a viable option to beat the big boys. Getting there is not enough, got to scare the SEC. BU beating Ole Miss did more than TCU getting killed did. BU stumbling last year was a problem

If I recall, a school just south of FW was on an upward trajectory in football but then out of nowhere arose a big ole scandal. Beware of upsetting the blue blood apple cart purple toads. Bad things happen.

TCU has had numerous scandals…one could argue several more than Baylor actually. The difference is they didn't have a bunch of clowns on their board of regents who were willing to sacrifice their university to save their own ass.

I disagree. During my time at Baylor Ive seen my bears win a Big12 championship, Ny6, and most importantly a national championship!

Kids my age at TCU have won a NY6, lost a Big12 chip, and got blown out in the natty.

I'll take being a Baylor fan anyday

We are the biggest game on TCU's schedule every year. Doesn't matter if it's women's tennis. Somehow we need to find a way to match their focus, especially in football.

Comparing success comes down to football and men's basketball. Period. We have a national title in men's basketball. A national title!

TCU had a nice little run last year in football. They were quite possibly the worst team to participate in a national title game since the BCS started. 2014 TCU was their only team that matched the best we rolled out over the past 15 years with our 2013, 2014, and 2021 teams.

Basketball? No
Football and Baseball yes, TCU is Baylor's daddy on the gridiron and diamond nowadays
Way too early to say to answer "yes" to that question regarding football. Just way too early.

What's Baylor's record against TCU on the gridiron the last decade ? Like 3-7?? They own us right now that really can't be denied.

What does that have to do with who has the better HC currently? That was the question posed at the beginning of the thread. It is way too early to answer that.

We're 4-9 since we started playing annually in 2010. Our 4 wins have been in some of the all-time great games between our teams. This has simply been a great rivalry with a few exceptions where we got blown out.
