So, to kind of point out the obvious, this isn't Aranda holding back tears like the caption implies.

This is Aranda's frustrated grimace. I saw him do something similar minus the hands on TV. He bears his teeth to let some frustration out of his face but it's extremely quick

It must be tough coaching a bunch of soft, no-talent sta-puff marshmallows that bought in to your POP recruiting schtick.

I also deal with stress with my job while getting paid less in a year than what he makes in a pay cycle. And I'm not signed to a multiyear contract with guaranteed money. Point being, if he can't handle the stress, there are lots of young up and comers out there that would like to have a go at it for 6 million/year or whatever it is he's making

Everyone knows coaching is stressful. It wouldn't pay millions if the job was easy.

Particularly since Aranda couldn't motivate his kid to do homework.

Yeah but you're financially set for life. Like you know you never need to worry about money ever again.

Every head coach knows what they're signing up for. It's a brutal business, but they all know that from the jump.

This isn't as bad as the infamous pic of Steele appearing to be crying on Mack Brown's shoulder (after we had just lost by something like 62-0 to UT) but for some reason it reminded me of that.

What happened off the field? I do recall his father passing a month or so ago.

The pic can be deceiving and really shouldn't be used as any kind of evidence. Probably had sweat in his eyes at that moment. I watched him throughout the game and he had blank expression the entire time. But it did look like a different blank expression than usual. He looked like someone who wasn't sure, like he was bracing for what may happen. But I never saw any signs of total frustration, though it certainly would have been understandable.

I don't have a ton of confidence that he has any answers. We'll see.

The picture that I will never get out of my head is Steele crying on Mack's shoulder. He should get punched in the balls every time he flies over Texas.

Actually the picture of Steele is deceiving as well. The photo was taken during a split second during which Mack was whispering something to him he didnt want the crowd around them to overhear. I speculate some sort of words of encouragement. Anyway at the particular split second of the photo, Steele's head was positioned in a way someone being whispered to usually is and it was characterized by everyone on BFans including my younger self as something derogatory toward Steele.

The moment is unacceptable.

The first thing Steele should have done when he was in range was punch Mack

Actually Aranda should have asserted some control over the uniforms of his era at least by after year 2. But we currently wear a cheap children's costume version of a Baylor uniform and call it the uni.

I swear that the Baylor fanbase is the only one in America that would ever think of posting a picture of a coach rubbing his forehead who just lead his team to two very embarrassing losses with the intention of making the fanbase feel sorry for him because his job is stressful.

I feel bad that the man's father died as I am very close to my dad as well, but that does not excuse poor performance when you are making millions. If you want to be in a P5 conference, you're agreeing that your athletic department is essentially a business, and it needs to be run as such. Aranda could retire for life tomorrow, and his children would never have to work a day in their lives.
