It's a beautiful place to watch a game. And the dialed back branding and easy muni parking is a slam dunk.

Ditto your want list, but we have to remember that Baylor had a consistently winning environment a few years ago but the rest didn't follow.

It would be nice to see BU have good crowds and environment in down seasons like some other schools. Va. Tech and Iowa State come to mind as examples.

We came for first time since 2021. I didn't see the enthusiasm at past Baylor FB games. There weren't the corporate sponsors with freebies (still have my green HEB sunglasses). Overall it seemed flat. I missed doing a crowd sing along and getting the crowd involved in the game. It's hard to explain, but I think flat is the correct word. I'm not sure what they need to fix it, either.

The final two seasons of the Case were electric and the first few seasons in McLane were electric. Winning most definitely helps. I bet Duke sees an up tick in attendance this year.

It doesn't address why Tennessee can fill 100k seats over 2 decades of suckage and we can't get 40k+ when we don't suck.

It doesn't help when the students are trying but the alumni just sit there like it's a golf match. Get loud! Join in! It is not impolite to stand on your feet and scream at the other team on 3rd down. It's actually impolite to our defense not to.

Ding ding ding. We have an old and boring fanbase. People don't want you standing and don't know when to yell. We play song like when the saints go marching in. Our offense is boring and we are losing. None of this excites the fan, might as well sell some beer and get some NIL dollars

Yes! He is the problem. He is off-putting and talks down to the fanbase. Corporate sponsors don't seem to like him and under his watch we are seeing pull-backs in the major sports.

I WBB, Mulkey who he couldn't placate just won another Natty and LSU managed to pay here. Meanwhile BU WBB is a shell of its former self.

Football, we were arguably the #3 program in the State. Now, we are behind UT, A&M, Tech, TCU and some would argue that SMU has a higher ceiling. We are down to shaming people to come to games, see K-State last year.

MBB, has done ok. But underperformed.

At BYU you could hear a pin drop when they were on offense and I needed ear plugs on Defense. Oh the Case with the Tarp. And the fans in the shade dressed up, never clapping and looking proper.

Game atmosphere is a two way street. Fans have to get involved. The alumni side is always so stale. It's 3rd and long and you'd think someone was about to serve at Wimbledon.

Not endorsing Mack but do feel like he's in a bit of a catch 22. Players, students, and more enthusiastic fans want better hype music and livelier tailgating, while the donor class writing the big checks threaten to stop those checks if the music is loud and the tailgating to lively.

Yeah. 100%.
Nothing says "Keep driving, DKR is just down the road" quite as boldly as that.
Great school and great students and faculty and beautiful facilities. Level up or don't. Especially now with NIL complacency is also going to carve into MBB and WBB and that's a shame.

Games havent been fun for a while. Baylor is just boring now. Attending most events on campus make me want to take a nap. Cant get old farts to do anything. Baylor has nothing on the traditions of other schools. Its a baptist sunday sleepfest. Oh well, guess we can ponder the good ole fb glory days from 2010-2015 for the next 10 to 20 yrs. Aranda will be here a while and thats sad. The new mbb arena will be a flop too. Just a smaller venue with less to cheer about. Drew is nothing without tang.

I agree with you on the fan base everyone seems old I regularly get ugly looks from fans at games cause I get to hype or they want me to dial it down they complain about the music that gets played etc I see why other fan bases make fun of us we are the golden girls of the big 12

It was pretty electric during CAB era, often heard that McLayne was louder than Seattle Seahawk stadium. I know it was rocking just about every game that I attended. Heck, the Case could get going too those last few years.

Baylor is being Baylor. The BOR didn't like Briles' sideline jumping players and the rap music. Old, narrow-minded grey haired white people care more keeping Baylor holier than thou than winning.

I remember one game at Casey during pre game warm ups the rap music was borderline R rated. Players were fired up but the blue hairs up under the press box were steaming mad.

Yea don't get me wrong depending on the game it definitely gets rowdy the loudest I have heard it at McLane was the 28-3 game against OU I was thinking to myself we made it to the big time cause that place was rocking! Nothing compares to the briles era at the case those crowds where different

I am with you on the other stuff, but MBB won a national championship two years ago. They had a great season the next year but couldn't overcome JTT's injury. They went out in the second round but only after just missing an epic comeback. No shame in losing to a UNC team that almost won the whole thing.

Last year they never clicked. But we have been as good as anybody over the last five years.

Which all relates to the atmosphere at football games. BU fans will get enthusiastic for a top-5 team but not much else.
