If we make a change that is. I know he has never been a HC but that Oregon offense is wild and fun and I would note UTSA is not the same without him. He may have been the power behind the throne there.

Would we be able to get him here away from Oregon as Aranda's OC since he has alot of history in Texas.

Their offense is the most creative and exciting I've seen since……..

No one is leaving Oregon to be the OC for a lame duck head coach at Baylor, so you can end that silly talk now.

Aranda isn't getting another OC hire. He needs to fix the program with the tools he has or we'll trade him for a new head coach with new tools. It's that simple.

I asked about giving him his HC shot as well.

He also has an experienced, talented, mature QB running things on the field, and what looks to me like great talent on the OL and wide outs.

Did he have that at utsa?

No way in hell Mack would hire him.. he's dead set on the 1940's style offense where 17 a game is a miracle

Your second paragraph says "Would we be able to get him here away from Oregon as Aranda's OC since he has alot of history in Texas?"

That's a silly question to which the answer is obviously no.

He's an interesting name as Aranda's successor, should it come to that. But I really don't want another coordinator. I want an established head coach. I'm tired of watching on-the-job training.

There would be little, if any, interest in moribund program such as Baylor. Once again having to rise from ashes to be mundane. It's just pathetic and disheartening.

How long was he at UTSA? Anyone know his coaching history?

He was a position coach for 2 years (WR) and a co-OC for 1 year. Prior to that he was at Lake Travis High School as an OC and AHC. He's never been a head coach at any level in his entire life, which is only 33 years.

Yeah, but if this season continues to be a disaster and we have a big buyout, we may not be looking at head coaches. We may be looking at coordinators.

Of course, we just did that…..

Why would a coordinator at a top-10 program take a job for a struggling program with a lame duck coach? C'mon, guys.

Right, maybe first thing to do is let Mack go, so that he can't hire anyone else!

Yes make him our head coach and have him bring back Austin Novosad. Maybe he can bring over a little Oregon swag for our uniforms as well

Gj kinne would be my choice right now. Young proven head coach with Texas high school and baylor ties. Hey they beat us and have since been on a roll at tx state. I am a txstate alum but have always rooted for the bears. Now I catch myself paying attention to txstates program, they have energy and excitement.

Jeff Traylor would still top my list, but Kinne would definitely be on it.

See if we can hire him as Athletic Director

Traylor is 1-3 without Stein. Which is something I was looking at when I started this thread in addition to watching that offense at Oregon. I'm just wondering if the kid is another offensive prodigy we should notice early like now and jump on and catch lightening in a bottle again.

Stein was only the OC at UTSA for one season. Traylor laid the foundation for that program while Stein was a position coach.

UTSA is having a down season this year, but I'm not the least bit worried about Traylor's ability to organize a program, hire a staff and build a roster.

No.

Do not hire coordinators with zero HC experience.

We need a guy who has built a program and taken them to a conference championship win.
