We can win our remaining games

Winning 7 in a row is absolutely far fetched… you're using 1 quarter of football as evidence we can run the table. That's not a great recipe. Especially when this team has been ass at home the last 2 years. If we can win Saturday than at Cincy it's possible we make a bowl but let's not get carried away. All 7 are winnable. They're also all potentially loses

I agree with your conclusion, but it wasn't one quarter, it was three. We outplayed them in all phases after the first quarter. We averaged like 50 yards per drive on our last eight possessions and limited them to one offensive touchdown on a drive where we had a stop negated by a coaching penalty.

We're not going to run the table. But there is legitimate reason for optimism. We actually played well after a disastrous start, showing what this team can be when it can get out of its own way.

I think the only game that isn't realistically winnable is @KSU. The only game we should reasonably count as a W is vs. Houston. Everything else is a tossup.

We could easily win all five in between those two games if we play like we did in the last 20 minutes on Saturday. We could easily lose all five if we play like we did the first 40.
Yep. This is the truth.

Come on Mitch!

I'm only saying it's possible. If the team can play the rest of the season like they did in the second half Saturday, then they should win more games. I know it's very unlikely to win all the rest but with this schedule it's a distinct possibility. Especially if they can build on the momentum.

Personally, I think the trip to Manhattan will be a tough one.

They could win every one. Or they could lose every one. This team is a crap shoot...

That's true most years…. about most teams

Ok, more so about this one...

This team reminds me of the golfer that makes a ton of bad shots and then recovers to shoot a just decent enough score. UCF, LIU and Utah. Or they lay a clunker - Tx St and TX

@TCU
Tech
WV

I reasonable ranking. I would have the same order, possibly flipping Tech & WVU.

Could win, umh OK.

We play a few-months-out-of-the-G5 team and win by one point, and somehow we've gone from being bad to possibly competing for the championship.

Love the optimism. But the pragmatic ones of us know different.

Depends on the team make-up. If this is a young team, yeah it could flip like that. Once the confidence is there is can be night and day.

If it is an older team, than no. It is what it is.

So, is this a young BU team that's youngsters have had some lights go on? Or, a bad veteran team that is just bad and took advantage of UCF disintegrating? UCF put up 31 on KState, they are not a typical G5.

If we play like our second half against UCF, the Bears can beat any and all of our remaining opponents:

  • Texas Tech (2-3), Oct 7--Home
  • Cincinnati (2-3), Oct 21--Away
  • Iowa State (2-3), Oct. 28--Home
  • Houston (2-3), Nov. 4--Home
  • Kansas State (3-1), Nov. 11--Away
  • TCU (3-2), Nov. 18--Away
  • West Virginia (4-1), Nov. 25--Home

And if the loser of OU-TX suffers a second loss, we could return to Arlington.

We can still enjoy the sunshine.

Uh oh. Open wide then bend over.
