He's going to be a bust. As obvious and spectacular a bust as Bryce Young. And all his goofy nonsense about demanding partial ownership from the team that drafts him (which his agent should know is not allowed) is going to end up knocking down a coaching staff.
I agree, his draft stock stays higher if he can sit out and avoid being outplayed by a 3rd string walk-on like Bryson Barnes.
i'm with you. it reminds me of kyler murray. they are both just so small - if they don't have dynamic weapons that are so so open and quickly, the amount of work/time to make something happen just isn't that repeatable in the NFL.No Quarterback said:Killing Floor said:

I don't think Bryce Young looks like a bust, but the Panthers really should have taken Stroud. I think Bryce looks like a guy whose physical tools are pretty average and who is playing for a bad team with no weapons around him. But he hasn't looked bad by any means.
Williams absolutely has tremendous talent…. but talent isn't all that it takes to pan out at the next level. I would be absolutely shocked if he isn't the number one pick and if he doesn't have teams giving up multiple firsts to move up to get him. The way he acts in the pre-draft process will be crucial.

Kyler Murray is 5 10 standing on his tippy toes
Caleb Williams is 6 1 and a thicker guy.
Williams is a small NFL QB but in the range. Kyler should have stuck with baseball

Murray is built pretty thick as well. Bryce is the outlier. He looks like a high school quarterback.
leading up to the draft, I never understood the takes of people that were gushing over how big and athletic Anthony Richardson was but also trying to say that Bryce Young's tiny stature and frame weren't a big deal
The defining trait of a successful quarterback in the NFL is being able to throw with anticipation. Some guys can learn to do it and some can't. Williams did it pretty often last year. I haven't really paid attention to him this year, but I think he has the culmination of traits that would lend him success in the NFL. It's pretty much a crapshoot though
It doesn't help that the stadiums are generally smaller, but yeah, nobody draws a crowd like Messi.boykin_spaniel said:
Nashville SC fan here. Cup final against Miami and Messi the cheapest seat was over $1,000
Can you call a guy a bust this early into his pro career?Killing Floor said:

BREAKING: USC QB Caleb Williams wants assurances the #Bears will be trading the first overall pick before declaring for the draft.

Williams and his camp have no interest in playing in Chicago.
All of Lincoln Riley's QBs that finished their college carriers as starters under him have panned out so far in the NFL (Mayfield, Murray, and Hurts), so, if Caleb flames out there, he would be the first.boognish_bear said:BREAKING: USC QB Caleb Williams wants assurances the #Bears will be trading the first overall pick before declaring for the draft.

I am not sure that they've panned out.
Mayfield has been on 4 different teams in 6 years and has a lifetime passer rating comparable to Mason Rudolph and Carson Wentz. He is also incredibly arrogant. NFL record 40-46
Kyler Murray is pretty much the definition of an average NFL qb. IMO they should move on, but this is the same team that hired Coach Bro, so? He is also incredibly arrogant. NFL record 28-36
Hurts, I will give you, is a good NFL QB and seems to be pretty straight arrow. He also played for Bama for 3 years (which I doubt is a coincidence).
We know Williams is incredibly arrogant. I guess we'll see how he looks in the NFL and whether he is coachable. My bet is he's not

I like Caleb but he cannot just repurpose a gesture a one-time conference rival also named the Bears has been using for almost a century.
