Briles got $15.1 million.

Aranda at $12 million makes some sense but still seems malpractice-level high if true.

We spent over $20 million to buy out Briles, Starr, and Ian. $15.1 million to buy out Briles because, and I quote, "he wasn't a fit." I don't want to here another word about buying out Aranda being unrealistic.

So you're telling me, the Baylor Board of Regents land at #6 in the highest buyout of all time, in firing an innocent man to coverup their negligence and incompetence, awesome.

Baylor's biggest problem for its history has been the morons on its board.

We constantly suffer from unsophisticated authority.

If Aranda's buyout really is $12M, that buyout would be ranked #46 if compared to the buyouts at public universities at the FBS level* - private university buyouts are not public so there is not an easy way to compare. In that scenario, the buyout is perfectly reasonable compared to the market and is arguably below market (i.e. below UTSA/Cincinnati/Houston's buyout amount).

Great link, thanks! I wish it compared the buyout to the number of years left so we could see what the average multiple would be without a lot of work.

I'm in the wrong business. I wish I could be mediocre and laid off with my next 8 years of salary covered!
