Regarding your last question, didn't Dykes have a real good recruiting class earlier this year… some 4&5 stars? Guessing he'll have some time based on that.

It's a little perplexing. Dykes had a winning record against the Toads while he was at SMU and I think that was one of the major reasons the Toads hired him.

Not 5-star quality but his 2023 class was inside the top 25 in composite rank, and most (maybe all?) of those kids committed well before TCU's CFP run.

The interesting thing? Their 2024 class is worse than that one, which has to be somewhat alarming considering they got zero recruiting boost from playing in the natty.

Sort of confirms that your on-field success these days really does not correlate much with how well you can recruit anymore. Hype and money.

As has been discussed at length in this forum, newly hired coaches cannot be judged off of their on the field performance in their first two years due to the relatively new rules involving roster construction, and thus is true for Sonny Dykes, Deion Sanders, Jeff Brohm, G.J Kinne, and anyone else that fits into that mold.

So we should hire Gary Patterson?

Agreed. Dykes is obviously a good game time coach, but a lot of success wouldn't have come if Chandler Morris never went down. Also, they were like 7-1 in one score games or something. That's INSANELY lucky

yep.........same with us during Rhule's last year.......insanely lucky

conversely, we were insanely unlucky with the Sunday schoolers firing Art on the edge of greatness.

Y'all may not remember that qb wasn't even the starter last year and had been demoted. Guess they evaluate qb talent similar to the nice young men we have coaching our Bears

This season will be like almost 80% of seasons tcu has had since joining P5. What a wild program.

Espn Breaking baylor really hurt tcu as it re-pooled talent back to Ou and ut at a more Concentrated level
