We can get a sitting head coach. We just have to wait for them to fulfill their responsibilities.

Joey was a position coach so he was able to start at Tech immediately.

Y'all are talking g about announcing a new hire who is a HC. You don't have to wait to announce the firing of the current HC.

Most schools don't announce a return of a coach like Arkansas did. They announce a firing or they don't announce anything. I sure wouldn't take having no announcement of anything means there has been a firing.

I guarantee he will not wait weeks. The transfer portal opens Dec. 4, and if we don't have a coach in place by then, we will be royally screwed. Mack knows that. Everyone knows that.

The next coach will have to go heavy on transfers to build his first roster. There's no way we don't have someone named by the time the portal opens.

I didn't say no one would. I said there's no real advantage in doing so.

Yeah you have to wait.. especially if the buyout drops at a certain date..you're not going to fire him Nov 15 and expect him to coach the rest of season.

That's what idiot programs do. We did that when we fired Steele and asked him to finish the season.

As Mack said last week..what other programs are doing (A&M) have no bearing on our decisions.
