It's absurd that the PAC-12 no longer exists. College football is stupid.

The died due to their own arrogance. I don't celebrate their fate, but the conference deserved it.

I only feel bad for OSU and WSU. That sucks for them.

Their conference leadership sucked. But there should be a regional West Coast conference. It's stupid that money squeezed them out of existence and pushed West Coast schools into East Coast and Midwestern conferences.

Appropriate that they ruined themselves ending with one of their best seasons in ages.

Frankly, I'm sad that the Pac is dead. Always enjoyed a lot of their playing styles and traditions, and having their late games to end the day. Their arrogance certainly did end them, but it was a good league otherwise.

Just one more gravestone in the cemetery of former college football greatness.

Maybe you should try reading up on it and educating yourself, then. The conference turned down a contract that could've saved them and asked for a ridiculous increase of approximately 67% over the offered amount. That's what killed their conference. They were too arrogant to understand their market value.

Who was too arrogant - the P12 commissioner? I could see directing comments towards him, or the people telling him what to do.

That said, I don't see how one can separate fans from the conference. TV media deals stem directly from fan interest. So death on a conference only equates to fans being punished. I don't think fans should be punished if they have bad leadership.

You can substitute US citizens for fans and government for leadership and make a similar statement that has been true for at least two decades. Then you have the situation that we as a country and state are in and will likely continue to be during the remainder of my lifetime.

The University of Texas destroyed college football years ago by creating the Longhorn Network with ESPN. This set off the mass migration of dozens of colleges from one conference to another in search of equity or more money, or conference security. Natural historic geographic rivalries were sacrificed. Now teams of the same colors or mascots from different parts of the US play each other. There are two UT who wear orange in the SEC, people will think that USC and UFC are in the Midwest, OU will never play Nebraska or Oklahoma State as conference rivals but will now play Vanderbilt and Mississippi State with greater regularity. College football is stupid.

Agree its sad and afraid its just one step closer to a bunch of us smaller schools/fan bases eventually being relegated out of a power 2.
