This whole thing is a huge mess and a political agenda. FSU should be in and both Georgia and Alabama out, but we all know that is not going to happen. SEC, SEC.

Can we please have a CFP scenario breakdown for Baylor in 2024 ?

Based on what?? Do we know for an absolute fact they aren't one of the best 4??? They've won 19 straight!
They just beat a top 10 team with their 3rd string QB… they played the 16th toughest SOS and went 13-0 it's not like they didn't play anyone all year. You simply cannot punish them because their star QB is out. That completely ignores the entire body of work

It should be

1. Michigan
2. Washington
3. FSU
4. UT

A lot of folks are saying FSU doesn't deserve, that it's about the best team

It's completely unfair to leave out FSU just because their QB is out, those young men have busted their ass all season long and have shown adversity

We have never done "the best team". Otherwise TCU or Cincy would have never made it

If FSU doesn't get in and wins their bowl then I'm pulling a UCF and claiming a natty

Bingo and FSU absolutely has a championship level defense.

1. Michigan
2. Florida State
3. Washington
4. Alabama

Gotta feel for two year defending champ Georgia for getting shut out due to a single loss from their conference championship game.

Don't think they are one of the 4 best teams right now. But I argue you cannot use that logic. They should still be in.

I am 99% certain Oregon is one of the 4 best teams in college football. They are significantly better than Texas and they are better than current FSU (without starting qb) but we can never justify putting them in. The 4 best is just a phrase even if it is in the Committee's criteria. Its not a viable thing.

I think Uga is probably also one of the 4 best teams straight up but they shouldn't be in. Bama now is obviously way better than the junk team they looked like when they played Tex and USF but again they still lost. Would they beat Texas now.. I am confident they probably would but we can't do that.

Should be in
Michigan
UW
FSU
Tex

4 Best Teams
Michigan
UW
Oregon
Uga, argument for current Bama

TCU clearly wasn't one of the best 4 last year. What happened was they got in and beat one of the clear best 4. Anything can happen in a playoff setting. FSU deserves the chance to play for a title.
They've never left a P5 undefeated team out. In almost a decade that's never happened. Nothing FSU has done this season points to them not being deserving. They lost their star QB so let's punish them by not allowing their TEAM to play for a title

5. Alabama 12-1
6. Georgia 12-1
7. Ohio State 11-1

9. Missouri 10-2
10. Penn State 10-2

I 100% agree. Would be funny if they won it. If they can scheme up with their back up and generate points they have a shot. None of these teams are that special.. other than maybe Michigan.

This dismal conference game format is finally coming to an end.

Over 10 years, the Big10 East vs. West Championship results:

Wins: 10 East, 0 West
Points: 352 East, 145 West

All the whining by kirby is funny.

The BCS / CFP has been a sham from the get go.

I'm not even sure Michigan is anything special. They beat up a boatload of cupcakes and escaped OSU in the big house. There's no clear cut favorite this year.

They did beat an offensively pathetic Iowa team for the Big 10 title, though.

That has to count for something.

I don't think they are bc they play that grinding offense. I just don't see them ever struggle that much. Even in the games that were "close" they still always seem to have control. FSU, Tex, and Washington almost actually lost multiple games.. and each probably should have dropped at least one more. Michigan just cruises. You probably have better insight, but I actually respect Iowa's D and think it is really really good. To beat them by more than 17 is impressive to me.

The other 3 I put about the same. It will all come down to unit matchups and how they show up that night. The other teams are a little flaky and have obvious weaknesses other than Michigan.

I think they got it right. I have never thought the CFP got it right.
Not a Longhorn so don't go there please. But the committee watched FSU play last night.

Alabama will THUMP Michigan.
Texas-Washington will be tight and I don't know if I can call it. But Bama will beat either of those 2. Maybe I'll edit later.

But instead of hating, be happy the Big 12 is represented.

And BU will be there soon enough.
Let’s Go!

They are and it isn't that close. Oregon is better than current FSU and better than Texas. But they have no argument for being in.

Just as I said yesterday. You could see this coming from a mile away. All you had to do is stop talking and then listen to what Bill Hancock told you on Tuesday night what the committee was about to do this weekend.

No argument from me. But you could see it coming. Why? Big 12 and ACC fans think there is a P4 concept when the reality is that we're already shifting to what will be the ultimate result -- a P2, which is what the media and higher level execs in college football have pushed for several years.

I hate to have to say this, but the best thing to happen in the semis could be for a bunch of pro-Palestinian or climate kooks to glue themselves to the 50 yard line and disrupt the games for a good while.
