I would take Novosad back, but I think the bridge has been burned.

Absolutely, especially with the way Novosad went about it. I can't get over the fact that he actually contacted Coach Freeman at Notre Dame to request a meeting while committed to Baylor. WHO DOES THAT?!

If this is true, Novasad has no character. Better that he is not at Baylor.

Why wouldn't it be true. He did the same with Oregon I would think. I mean circumstantially that would appear to be the the case.

I'm skeptical that he would have started over Sawyer Robertson. The crappy thing about the situation is that we turned Zach Pyron away as a sort of show of good faith to Novosad, and the rest is history. But again, Robertson right now is currently better than both imho

I do think our depth at the quarterback position is thin, hence why we're going after Walker White

How did he kneecap Baylor? He wouldn't have played last year anyway.

Did you not see how our QB room was decimated by this? Or how Aranda's authority was weakened with the players? He literally allowed a high school kid to tell him how to run his roster and still ditched us even after Aranda caved in to every one of his requests.

Fortunately, Baylor has recovered since then and so has Aranda's credibility, but things were bleak for a few years.

This is a bit of an exaggeration. In response to this we signed Robertson about 2-3 weeks later and it did nothing to Aranda's credibility with his players. Aranda seems to have as solid a loyalty to him from his players as I have seen based on the entries into the portal numbers. This was true even during the slump and when NIL was pretty low to non existent.

Dude, what? The 2022 team was was rife with disciplinary issues, by Aranda's own admission. The players were tuning him out. Getting Robertson was just blind, stupid luck. And with the awful way we had treated him, we're even more lucky that he didn't hit the portal.

Is there a news story of some sort where Aranda admitted to these things yoh claim he admitted to such as losing control of his players and they were against him? I don't remember this at all. Perhaps some detractors made this claim here but I didn't even see those. I do recall some players were having issues with the DC at the time in 22 and it was addressed promptly if that is what you are actually talking about. But none of that was caused by Nivosad's signing with Oregon.

How was Robertson treated poorly?

The beef with Novosad and Kinne was not they chose another program but how they did it.

Things were bleak for a year. Not a few years.

When Blake Shapen is your starter, things are already bleak. And that was for two seasons. The fact is that our QB situation was a mess since 2020. The fact that we kept Kyron Drones on the bench, was football malpractice.

Keeping him on the bench when he was clearly the best QB on the roster because Finn got the big bag. It was all about ego and saving face until Finn got hurt which forced Aranda to start Robertson.

This is accurate. Had Finn not injured himself Aranda would not have felt free to make the QB change. It's abundantly clear Sawyer is a better athlete than Finn at position and that didn't happen magically on the day Finn was injured.
All conspiracy/politics nonsense aside, if Sawyer was better week 4, he was better week 1 and better in the summer. Finn was Dave's first big money portal guy and he would have ridden him 12 games.

I am not sure that this can be disputed. I wish Fin the best but I did not see any evidence that he would be successful with what he demonstrated the beginning of the season.

Finn is going to be a great senior for a team like Mercer or UTEP

No joke, Finn might be the next starting QB at the University of Michigan. I guess we'll get a good sense for his talent if that actually comes to pass.

Pass is the thing he could not do for BU

As accurate as that is, he's still a better passer than Alex Orji, and Orji started 3 games for them this past season. I wouldn't be shocked if he's the bridge QB they bring in until Bryce Underwood is ready to take the reins.
