It's possible. Did anyone think that Baylor and TCU would finish with identical 1-loss records and tie for the conference championship?Russell Gym said:
Now that it's a 12 team field, we will be held to the standard of winning the Big 12 championship (if we are ranked high enough). Does anyone believe that the Big12 will get more than one team in the field?

My takeaway is we had the second best program in league behind OU and for a couple years the top one
Its almost not that great of a memory anymore TBH. We need to beat them again.BUATX2000 said:wongobear said:It's possible. Did anyone think that Baylor and TCU would finish with identical 1-loss records and tie for the conference championship?Russell Gym said:

Yea, but we had to beat Oklahoma and Texas to get there, which regardless of what we think on this board, counted in the eyes of the media and decision makers (we were still left out, but you get my point). This time, the Big 12 will be written off as a "weak" conference, so basically only the champion will have a shot of getting in and I am almost willing to bet that a 5 seed is about the highest that a Big 12 champ will get.wongobear said:It's possible. I think it will all depend on the scheduling of the big 2 conferences. If they have several teams taht beat up on each other and the Big12 has a team with only one loss to the conference champ they will probably end up higher ranked.guadalupeoso said:Yea, but we had to beat Oklahoma and Texas to get there, which regardless of what we think on this board, counted in the eyes of the media and decision makers (we were still left out, but you get my point). Yea, but I think then they will look to "how many ranked teams did the big 12 teams have to play vs how many of those losses came from 'top 15' opponents for the big 2 teams." ESPN will do whatever mental gymnastics they need to for the desired ratings result.cowboycwr said:I think it will all depend on the scheduling of the big 2 conferences.
