Tight ends were a huge focal point of Jeff Grimes’ Wide Zone offense. From 2021 to 2023, Baylor spent about 40-50% of overall snaps with two or more tight ends on the field. That’s a huge number for college football, far exceeding what many NFL teams are utilizing these days. 

That was reflected in scholarship allocations. In 2023, Baylor had 6 scholarship tight ends on the roster (7 if you count Gavin Yates, whom I’m not sure if he’s on scholarship or not).
