Score was much much worse. Dana scored a ton late on our 3rd stringers

You can only take that so far. Had some of our players been better persons we wouldn't have gotten into the situation we found ourselves in.

Person over player is similar to Scott Drew's J.O.Y. I like it. It certainly worked for MBB.

With some "Bad Dudes" sprinkled in for competitive purposes.

At worst, we never had more true "bad dudes" than the average winning D1 program - but because of the ones we did have we needlessly decided to nuke ourselves over it. Can't think of a dumber move ever made by the "leaders" of a university that had fought hard to elevate itself to relevant national status like we did when CAB was at the helm.

Spot on. Every program of significance dealt with off the field issues. The BOR decided it was just the right combustible material needed.

I have little doubt we could've scored 100 on them that night if we had really wanted to.

How many players were convicted? What did the School do when you have a player kill another player over a girl - - 6 years before Briles even arrived.

The issue was and still is today the BOR. They all need to go.

One player in jail and Briles had kicked him off the team early on. Numerous cases thrown out. Waiting on names of all those accused of SA that played for Art. The real crime was beating oU and uT and out recruiting them. But alas, they come after all of those "Baylor thugs" as soon as things blew up.

Please name the players who should have been "better persons"

Agreed. The second half was slower because Coach Briles emptied the bench quite a bit. Seth had a pretty good second half. IIRC, he even had a rushing TD.

First half did:

56-14 (one a freebie because of end zone fumble)
617 yards (342 passing, 272 rushing)
Petty was throwing at 67% (16 of 24)
Seastrunk had 172 net yards rushing
Goodley had 342 yards receiving

Our defense held WVU to 147 yards offense (135 + 12) and only 1 score.

All this was in the first half.

Shortly before halftime, the camera showed Dana on the sideline and he was just shaking his head. The announcers were running out of things to say about our offense!

Tevin Elliot. I think he's still in prison for his rape conviction. He's probably the only one, although everyone has their problems.

Art Kicked him off the team for drugs even before the alleged incident.

Good point. I was only trying to note that despite all the propaganda when the fake scandal broke, including from our own BOI, only one Baylor football player is in prison. True, S.U. was convicted, had it overturned, then reinstated (twice, if memory serves), but his sentence was only six months & he never played a game for Baylor. It's an asterisk to the slim record. Of corse, one conviction is too many but it's a far cry from all the fake news of 2016 & the pettiness in the years that followed, mostly based upon unsubstantiated allegations that proved to be only gossip.

In hindsight the whole saga was another example of the media hysterically spreading unsubstantiated hearsay and lies as if they were corroborated facts and then subsequently nobody is held to account and nobody even apologizes for the needless damage they directly caused. Totally shameful.

The media has been doing this for decades. They are propagandists, not journalists.

Best estimate maybe 450-500 football players, probably slightly less, went through Baylor during Art's tenure? One went to jail. 3 actually went to trial, two thrown out. One served time but as stated earlier never played a down for BU. Yet we earned the title of Rape U? Seems quite a stretch. Thanks Tx Monthly, FW Star, ESPN, LHN and especially to the BoI for defending the schools honor.
