Honestly after #5 I don't see any world-beaters in there. I think we're in for a very silly season.

Preseason rankings are fun and useless but cool to see Jayhawk getting some respect.

Can't wait for season. Hope we flip the script.

Not that I care at all, but UT may for a change actually deserve to be a pre-season Top 10 team.

some good first week games that will impact the following week's polls:

#9 penn state @ wvu - here's a statement game - o.c. andy kotelnicki gets his first play for the lions
#14 clemson @ #1 uga - no bigger game than this one as both are conference favorites
the jacks @ #18 oSu - why anyone would schedule a back-to-back fcs national champion is beyond me
#19 miami @ florida - intrastate rivals get it on - florida has the season's toughest schedule and a hot seat coach
#7 nd @ #20 aTm - collin klein getting his first shot at sec football v. the irish team he rejected
#12 lsu @ #23 usc - can't help wonder if lincoln is still in the driver's seat out there or hanging on to the door handle

Hopefully they will do their usual UT thing and squander that in the first few games. It would great if they were unranked by November.

i hope texas wins the sec. i would laugh till the cows come home, so to speak. b12 could take a victory lap on that one. and texas it's rightful place about destroying that league as it has every other. hook 'em, whorns.

When the game is in Austin, an Aggie win will make for a great Monday morning for me back at the office. Orange tears will flow like the Colorado River. Of course I couldn't care less who really wins but it's just more fun living in Austin after a tu loss, especially when they choke it away.

This is what happens when you completely dismantle a perfectly good Top Ten football team. We are Baylor.

I would love to be at that game. That's such a great rivalry and Kyle is a fun place to see football.
I'm not caring who wins but that's a great home environment and hats off to that fan base for making it that way. It's as good as Tennessee or Ohio State. If you ever get a chance to be dragged to a game at A&M do it.
I wish McLane could get that loud.

And the new Kyle Field is nice. I've been able to attend a couple games there.

Yeah. No Aggie blood in my family. But nobody can deny they have built a fiercely supportive fan base.

I'll be at McLane coming up in a few weeks (!!!!) and I'll be loud bit not Kyle loud.

It's impossible for 45,000 to be as loud as 110,000.

A university with 70k students is going to have a larger following than one with 20k.

I don't think so. And the Aggies on campus have access to tickets by paying a student fee just like students of Baylor and every other school.

No ranking should be released until everyone has played five or six games.
