Reese just isn't a very dynamic back. He's competent with a good line, but he can do very, very little to create for himself. We saw that last year, we're seeing it again this year.
Most running backs can't do anything when they have to "create" for themselves. That's not how a run game works
And it would be nice to at least put Richard Reese in the slot or design some swing routes for him, but our quarterback can't even hit those passes
Obviously, you don't want your backs getting hit at or near the line, but there are metrics kept to show who is better in those situations, and Reese is consistently the worst among our backs.
And he can't play in the slot because he can't catch.
It's not all his fault, but he's basically a useless player on our roster.
