In what other industry could an official place his institution in huge jeopardy of paying an employee over $25 million for performance of a contract with no clause for non-performance? Just a a burden or debt to the company.

No recourse, just a debt wholly owed by the company.

Could the party or parties be held liable for such irresponsible offer by the company?

This university is apparently being run by lawyers. . . . and not honorable ones.

We should all be marching on Pat Neff Hall and the Athletic Complex demanding responsibility.

Our BoR ran off the big dogs, and now we are run by two managers who don't care that much if we are good at football. They're accountable to no one other than a board that doesn't care that much whether we are good at football. Just get comfortable with mediocrity (at best).

This approach is fairly standard across quite a few industries, and it's perfectly aligned with the market in this case.
