A couple of games ago, Robertson went down for a play and they sent in Bennett instead of Finn. Finn was suited up. I was surprised. I do not think he has played in more than three or four games. What is going on?

He's a grad transfer. He's out of eligibility after this year

Medical redshirt, perhaps?

I'm not sure Finn was even suited up. I think he was listed as injured during the week, but I'm not sure if he was in uniform or not.

Could he not get one of those weird Covid years and play for 7 years like Rising and Bowman? Declare this year as an injury year and request a Covid year. Odd there hasn't been any news

If he were to somehow get another year of eligibility, my guess is it would be someplace else.

I guess it probably depends on what they're classifying his 19 season as. If that was a RS year than maybe he has an argument for a 7th year.
I'm a firm believer all athletes should get 5 to play 4. This whole thing has gotten way out of hand. I mean Miami has a 9th year TE. Guys like Bowman, Rising are grown ass adults playing against 18-20 year olds

You would think We would love for him to play on an opposing team because he performed so poorly, however…he must of shredded our defense in the off season to get the nod.

It has seemed obvious to me for awhile that we're paying Finn $750,000 to redshirt (or at least try to redshirt). Good gig if you can get it.

That may be the case. If so, it doesn't make any sense at all. If he is healthy, he needs to be our #2. With the way we are running the ball, Finn designed runs would be very dangerous for the other team.

Sure, he would be a weapon as a runner.

If Sawyer injury is High Ankle, he could be starter against WV.

It would be nice if they could teach him how to play corner.

God help us because we're playing in Morgantown. The lone place we've never won.

I'd be tempted to sit him if that's the case. Keep him healthy and we have 2 more games for bowl eligibility. Lose him for the season against WV and we're toast.

Maybe our running game has improved because of the passing threat from Sawyer. Defenses cannot stack the box. Finn could actually hurt our running game if he is seen as one dimensional.

Why would we want Finn to even sniff the field? He isn't a passing threat which leads to him being barely a running threat. Him being in the game affects both negatively. Sawyer can run, throw, and run the offense. Finn is a MAC QB. Now if we are up 60-3 in the 4th quarter let him get 2 series. But when the game matters he shouldn't touch the football, not with the emergence of Washington at RB

Is Finn better than our #3? That's the question you need to ask.

Considering #3 QB is all of 6' 175lbs ….Finn is still not a better thrower than him

I would like to see what Finn did in preseason for our coaches to pick him over SR. I agree he did not look great in the games where he played for us.

Remember that in modern day football, you have very few practices in full pads with full contact efforts. Like Shapen, I bet Finn was a practice hero. He was probably doing the defense dirty in practice with no outside pressure to perform. As soon as another team lined up he folded and he made the offense one dimensional if not zero dimensional. He scammed us.

I bet we need him sometime before the season is over. We always end up needing 2 QBs. And we are trying to win now.

Two answers.

1. Yes
2. Don't burn redshirt.

He's somewhere between McHenry and Tessier, roughly the 4th best QB on the roster.
If he can somehow get a 12th year of eligibility it won't be here.
But given the circumstances I am sure if it's possible the BU staff would sign off to let him go.

I'm not upset at Finn. I'm upset at the coaching staff for bringing him here.

That's fair. I'm upset with both. Finn should have performed better, instead he folded like wet TP. Coaches should have never touched him with a. 39.5 foot pole.

In Finn's defense nobody ever said he was a great quarterback. It's not like he had P5 film. He was pretty good in a bottom conference, that's it. And he had 9 seasons as a starter to show it. All Finn did was enter the portal. And there was pressure on the staff to bring in a QB and Finn was the easiest and least cost option.
Some of y'all act like Finn pulled one over on us. He never said he was going to suddenly do better. Poor scouting followed by a complete lack of competition in camp.

Uhhhhh if you go back to the day he made his commitment to Baylor, you should take a look at some of the comments on here. People acted like we got the next Michael Vick, and there were all kinds of references to PFF ratings and all that jazz. Not a single person expected him to be so bad that he would fizzle out after like two starts. Actually like the guy a lot as a back up, but if he theoretically could come back and was expecting sizable NIL money, I would let him walk, and I bet the staff would as well

Now that said, I'm not sure who we would have gotten that was better. I believe the staff had their eye on Allen Bowman….. the actual known commodities command seven figures i.e. Cameron Ward at Miami getting 2 million
