Based on the current 4 game winning streak and what he's done over the course of those 4 games I'm wondering if Robertson is presently the best under the radar QB in the country that beyond those who routinely follow the Big 12 relatively few know about.

Thoughts?

He's so under the radar that the coaching staff didn't even connect the dots at first.

He actually gets a lot of good press, and he could garner some lucrative offers if he wanted to throw his name into the portal. Need to hold onto him

Perhaps Sawyer hadn't connected the dots at first. I don't know. Are you certain? There are very few people that know why Finn was the game one starter and I doubt they are on this board.

He's going to the NFL.

He's not under the radar anymore. A lot of national football writers have been talking about him. Gotten a fair amount of press on several popular football podcasts. He's not talked about the way Jalen Milroe, Dillon Gabriel, or Shedeur Sanders are, but he's receiving pretty adequate notoriety for our position right now. Similar to say Brady Cook last year at Mizzou (although I think Sawyer will end up being a good deal better than Brady Cook).

How much will it cost Baylor next season to keep him?

Doubt it. He's not going better than the fourth round or so, and that's even if we win the next three. I've got no reason to think he wouldn't stay especially if Spav stays

Whatever we paid Finn +10% is what I would throw out if I was his agent

Is there some contractual obligation to keep paying Finn? Seems like a bad investment.

I hope you are asking this as a rhetorical question because none of the geniuses on this board would have a factual answer. But, of course that doesn't stop someone from saying they have seen the contract or talked to an "insider" that has. That said, you would think it would have been for a year since that is all the eligibility he had left, at least I think that is what I heard.

This is a good question. Do these guys sign contracts? If so, why don't we have a no transfer clause in the contracts and performance based incentives rather than outright payment. That is how the rest of the world works and that is what they want right??

Franky, I thought he should have played more last year.

I doubt a lot of, if any, NIL deals come with performance clauses, other than leaving the team or being dismissed. If they did it would seem to contradict the legality of pay for play, but not shocking.

I actually think we first need to make sure Spav stays - given the dramatic turnaround on offense - which is what is saving Aranda's job. Once Spav is secure for next year, make sure Robertson is next. Everything else should then fall into place.

Does everyone get bitter and smarmy when they pass 70 years old, or is it just you?

I have not heard of any teams using performance based NIL. Maybe it's out there and I just haven't heard about it.

It seems like so far these big sums are being paid at somewhat of a gamble.

Being a legitimately faith-based school gives us a true advantage for players who want faith-based lives.

And with those players' parents.

Too many other schools worship something far different than at Baylor.
