Staff Predictions: Baylor Wraps Regular Season At Home against Red-Hot Jayhawks

The SicEm365 Staff gives their predictions for Baylor’s (7-4, 5-3) final matchup of the regular season against the Kansas Jayhawks (5-6, 4-4). Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. CT on Saturday, Nov. 30, at McLane Stadium, and the game will be televised on ESPN2.

Colt Barber (9-2) — Baylor 38, Kansas 35

This is the first game since Baylor beat Tech that I don't have solid or better confidence that Baylor will win. Running the ball and stopping the run is a must, and I think Baylor figured out how to do it enough.

Brian Ethridge (3-8) — Kansas 48, Baylor 32

Baylor’s offense throws a clunker against Houston, and two of the better corners in the conference play for the made-up bird from Kansas. Plus, KU has two Heisman-level players in the backfield.

Ashley Hodge (9-2) — Baylor 35, Kansas 30

Kansas is the hottest team in the history of football. We all know that. But if you can't trust Isaiah Hankins, who can you trust? 

David Smoak (9-2) — Baylor 33, Kansas 30

Lance Leipold joined 365 Sports this week, and I brought up how, six weeks ago, this Baylor-Kansas game might not have been good enough to broadcast on ESPN+; he chuckled and said it might’ve ended up on the “Ocho.” He’s right, but now these two are red-hot, with Baylor on a five-game win streak and KU winners of three consecutive games against ranked teams.

Paul Catalina (9-2) — Kansas 35, Baylor 31

Devin Neal is rolling right now. This is a bad matchup. Both these teams are playing very well right now, but something has to give. 

Travis Roeder (9-2) — Kansas 38, Baylor 34

Both offenses hold the clear upper hand. Kansas is just a bit better right now. Baylor's defense does a decent job stopping the run but gets eaten up in the passing game. On offense, Bryson Washington has a big game, but Sawyer Robertson and the WRs struggle more than usual in the passing game. 

Sam Bradshaw (10-1) — Baylor 34, Kansas 31

I expect Baylor to do more in the defensive trenches and to protect the ball. Bears edge the Jayhawks.

Kendall Kaut (8-3) — Baylor 31, Kansas 28

Jalon Daniels has a costly turnover that allows Sawyer Robertson to seal the victory.

Garrett Ross (9-2) — Baylor 42, Kansas 38

I don’t see either defense getting many stops on Saturday, but watching these offenses cook will be a blast. 

Levi Caraway (7-4) — Baylor 38, Kansas 35

Baylor will need Sawyer Robertson to protect the ball and have the defense force Jalon Daniels into a turnover or two.
