Baylor quarterback Dequan Finn (6Sr.) will seek a medical hardship waiver for the 2024 season and look to play a final year of collegiate football, according to 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz. SicEm365 expects Finn to enter the transfer portal if he were to receive the waiver.

Finn, who was set to be Baylor’s starting quarterback this season after transferring from Toledo, was injured against No. 11 Utah on Sept. 7. Sawyer Robertson (RJr.) started in his place against Air Force on Sept. 14 and flourished as the Bears’ QB1.

Robertson threw for over 2,500 yards and 26 touchdowns this fall, while Finn played in just three games and did not suit up for the final month of the season after briefly returning from injury in Baylor’s 59-35 win over Texas Tech on Oct. 19.

Across those three contests, Finn threw for 307 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 66 yards and two touchdowns.

“Dequan is still trying to work through his injury and get it properly diagnosed and [find] what’s next for him in his career,” head coach Dave Aranda said on Nov. 25. “It’s been one-to-two-to-three, or however many weeks we’re into it, so I feel for him, and I’m hopeful we can get some type of closure here soon.”

He's an objectively bad quarterback.

But he did right by Baylor when he pretended to be unable to play. I mean, at his best day he was unable to play. But you know what I mean. He acted like it wasn't just being way over his head. And that's cool. He could light it up at Long Island University. Hope he gets that waiver.

Hope he finds a quality CUSA school to go to and play one more year.

This just isn't true. The guy was the MAC player of the year in 2023. He didn't live up to the expectations we had of him, but there's no reason to trash a good kid who worked his butt off while he was here.

Good Lord, you're a miserable human being. It just wasn't a good fit. Wish the man well without your caveats.

He's going to get absolutely mugged in a conference like CUSA. Needs to go back to MAC if he can.
