Does anyone know if we have interest in Chance Fitzgerald from VT? Younger guy with good size and was a 4 star out of high school.

At 6-0, 220 Jackson sounds like a Pitre clone. Hybrid LB/Star.

Pitre weighed less than 200 pounds at Baylor. Jackson is closer in size to Terrell Bernard or Clay Johnston.

The staff has clearly been busy. Anyone have any idea how many spots we have left open?

Didn't see it in this thread if I overlooked it, but according to this Alabama article he committed today.

Great job and congratulations to the football staff and administration for this collective effort in recruiting this portal season. I was kind of glum last year at this time re: football and the direction of the program. Now, there seems to be a renaissance and feeling of good cheer all around the program.

If there is a lesson to be learned it's: Don't allow fan board posts to affect your attitude...especially my posts.

So are we all good now or do we still have a slot or two to fill?

I think we need another DT, Edge, MLB, CB & Safety on defense. On offense another WR & OL and maybe a backup QB. No idea how many slots we have available.

Looks like we have our starter for week 1 in Jordan-Hare in 2026

Noteworthy Needs:

CB, CB, backup QB. On the last item, Senior to RS Freshman/Freshman is too big a gap.

Luxury takes if space available:

MLB, Edge, WR (outside not slot).

None of the above in any particular order other than needs over takes.

The staff has done a really good job of systematically replacing every key player lost. At this point, there are still some luxury items to grab if there's space in the cart, but most of the essential ingredients are already in the bag.

This would be huge. I don't know that much about him as a player other than he's a little raw as a passer but is a powerful runner and athletic. I believe the #5 quarterback in a class would be the second best quarterback Baylor has ever recruited from the high school ranks after Jarrett Stidham.

I can't take credit for this because it was my buddy's brilliant tweak of my original suggestion (Heisenberg), but if this kid is not nicknamed Heismanberg, someone is missing a golden marketing opportunity.

Pretty solid player, he was planning on sitting this year at Auburn regardless so I guess them prioritizing Arnold/Knight made him feel like he had to make a move. I also know that his mother has been having health struggles and he wants to be close to home (Little Rock). Auburn fans that I've talked to are upset to have lost him

We have Robertson just one more season right? If we sign this guy, this will help illustrate my point a couple of weeks ago about how the portal and NIL evens it all out on the thread about how the SEC and B10 were taking all the top talent on high school signing day a few weeks ago.

How many years of eligibility will he have? I feel like Sawyer has earned the starting spot. Would be good to have this guy ride pine for a year and be there to step in if SR13 gets hurt. But I'd like to ride with Sawyer if possible and hand him the keys in 2026

He was a freshman this year and redshirted. Will have 4 years in Waco if all goes to plan.

I think that's the plan. Sawyer isn't getting unseated, but you also never know when injuries are going to happen. I think him sitting under Spavital for a year would be the ideal situation. The quarterback position is wide open in 2026. Theoretically, we'd have Bennett, Griffin, Murphy, and White, with White having a year in the system and basically being the heir apparent. Obviously, anything could happen though

Same year as Nate Bennett I believe

Yeah, Bennett was the guy they pivoted to after they lost White to Auburn in '23. Baylor recruited White pretty hard early but just lost steam to Auburn bc of the lack of NIL presence here at the time. Like I said, Auburn is upset to lose him. This would be a big time get and definitely the QB of the future post-Sawyer.

Our biggest competitor would probably be if Clemson got involved, but I'm fairly confident we're in the driver's seat.

Worrying about managing the QB talent just right especially should we sign the Aub QB, is a nice first world problem. Just ask the folks in Pullman, Wa.

It all seems fair...Auburn owes us a couple of transfers.
