What effect will this have on his continued gratuitous appearances in Dr Pepper commercials?

I imagine Dr Pepper will continue to pay him regardless as to what school he goes to.

Will he continue to wear the Lt Dangle Reno 911 outfit in said commercials?

He's making a pretty good paycheck already, with minimal work/effort living BMOC large in the college life, and in the NFL he'd have to buy / pay for his own Bentley. I can see the debate.........

I wonder about BMOC. Lots of hankering for Arch on the 40 acres.

Life is tough in the NFL

He may have to scratch around for endorsements like CJ Stroud does with HEB.

For those of us who are old enough to remember - doesn't this seem awfully familiar?

Like "Chris Simms/Major Applewhite" familiar?

No matter how much excitement and buzz is in the air concerning Manning, one can't deny that Ewers has been a pretty steady QB for the Horns these past two years.

Seems like he's being under-appreciated and under-valued, imo.

And sometimes, forcing a steady, proven winner out can have dire consequences (see Gerry Bohanon).

What games have you watched?

I would take Robertson over Ewers.

It was close, but he threw for more TD's in the sec this year than he did in the B12 last year in 50 fewer attempts, as well as throwing for around 800 fewer yards this year.

Arch should stay at Texas, imo. I think he's a long way from being a successful NFL starter, and Arch is still very raw, as talented as he is.

Am I wrong in that schools aren't supposed to contact players until after they enter the portal? Crazy how rampant and blatant tampering is now days and worst part is no one seems to care.

Arch will start at Texas next year. End of discussion.

Ewers has 2 choices. Neither is starting at Texas.

And Jeff Davis commercials, "Call the Fours", in San Antonio.

That OL is looking weak into next year - a lot of talent graduates this year...but I agree.

Yeah, tons of senior and NFL losses on that team. They are going to have to load up on NIL.

By the way, I meant Ewers on the first one. He has some issues with a lot of passes and pocket presence.

Ewers is so typical of ALL quarterbacks who go through 40 Acres. Very average. Little to no NFL talent.

Yeah, that's gonna be a huge problem for them /s

There is no one to enforce it. NCAA says stop, OSU files a lawsuit immediately in Columbus and gets a judge to say NCAA can't enforce because it's a restraint on Ewer's NIL's rights.

The USSC's NIL decision basically gave the greenlight for judges to be boosters from the bench.

Sarkisian isn't dumb. He is starting Ewers because he is better at this point.

Ewers is nothing more than Matt Barkley II. All hype because of his backstory and the program he's at and highly probable to put up the same underwhelming stats and NFL career that Barkley did. Ironically, they have the exact same weaknesses and strengths (very few of those) as a QB.

I agree. If Arch were ready he would have been in long ago. He is being used for his scrambling ability now, but dangerous both ways as a passer. He will probably start next year, but it will be a learning and regrouping year, hoping he doesn't get destroyed in the process.

Ewers could surprise and take a step if he returns, but I'm not that confident he has star stuff at the highest level.

Said this before.

Quinn will spend every remaining day of his life regretting his decision to return to D1. He's played himself from Day 2 to 5 round at best, UDFA at worst. I will still not be remotely surprised if Arch portals
last minute or in spring. Reason is that Quinn throwing games with his bad play shows that Sark does not trust Manning.
Killing Floor
How long do you want to ignore this user?
The other side of that coin is Sark guaranteed Quinn the starting job in March before the deadline to confirm draft intent. We Bears know just how difficult it can be to bench a starting quarterback.
Not only because of political/inside pressure or loyalty but because the O line and all the skill guys have learned a scheme based on one starter.

The reason UT needs to consider Arch is because he is eligible to be drafted next season. There absolutely are NFL teams that will draft him almost entirely because of his name and develop him.

UT needs to get some productivity out of him and also convince him to stay as long as they can.

Probably true and goes to show that there is still a lot of antiquated thinking and plenty of morons that work in the NFL.

He has the DNA to be capable. Plus he has the networking skills of his family tree. Plus he has millions of dollars of family money to train just right. Plus his family has more experience winning in the NFL than anybody to mentor him through the whole process.

He has everything going for him that others don't.

Not only that, the Mannings will ensure Arch goes to the "right" team. They don't care what his draft ranking is

How can he have a deal from another school when he is still playing for UT and hasn't entered the portal? Isn't that against the rules to recruit like that?

If not it should be. You should not be able to recruit players of another team that have not entered the portal. Sort of how you cannot recruit a pro player that is not a free agent or talk to ones who are about to be FA until a certain date.

The NCAA was castrated a while back. There is almost nothing they can do that will survive legal action. Until the schools start putting these players under contract and go after other schools for tampering with Claims of Tortious interference, I doubt anything will change.
