Alabama wide receiver Kobe Prentice has committed to Baylor following his official visit on Monday. He becomes the first wide receiver commit for the Bears out of the transfer portal this offseason.
The 5-foot-10, 182-pound prospect had 60 catches for 780 yards and five touchdowns over three seasons at Alabama. In his first two seasons, Prentice tallied 49 catches for 651 yards and four touchdowns over two seasons. Under Kalen DeBoer as the Crimson Tides’ new head coach, Prentice totaled just 129 yards and a touchdown on 17 targets.
Prentice was a consensus top-100 prospect in the 2022 class, and he would be one of the highest-ranked players to ever attend Baylor.
Baylor is set to lose four of its top five receivers from this past year's team — Ashtyn Hawkins (5Sr.), Hal Presley (Sr.), Monaray Baldwin (Sr.), Ketron Jackson (Sr.) — making this position one of the most important for the staff during transfer portal season.
He will have one year of eligibility remaining.
