Florida International Linebacker Travion Barnes Commits to Baylor

Florida International linebacker Travion Barnes has committed to Baylor following his official visit last week. He becomes the Bears' second linebacker addition this transfer portal cycle, joining Fresno State transfer Phoenix Jackson.
The 6-foot-0, 228-pound prospect posted 129 tackles, 11 for loss, three sacks and two interceptions this past season as he earned All-Conference USA first-team honors. Barnes was also awarded the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year this fall.
Per Pro Football Focus, he graded out as a 78.8 for total defense with an 85.6 coverage grade, a 68.7 run defense grade and a 75.5 pass rush grade.
He played two seasons at Georgia Military College before heading to Florida International. Over 16 games at GMC, he totaled 147 tackles, 19 for loss, seven sacks, forced three fumbles and intercepted two passes.
He has one year of eligibility remaining.
