It's confusing to know when the current transfer portal closes, but it seems clear that we have not gotten any new players from it. Are we going to be shut out? And isn't the next window not until April??

I think what OP was asking is wasn't there supposed to be a second wave coming after the recent phase, during a different brief open portal signing period this winter, like right about now? I've also been wondering why it has been so quiet. Or maybe I misunderstood earlier posts about it.

That's the old news. Not the current wave.

We don't have infinite openings. We lost about 11 in the portal and gained about that. What slots are available currently?

The winter college football window opened 9 December and closed 28 December. Those were the dates for athletes to ENTER the portal. They can stay there as long as they need, but the names are submitted then.

Additionally, any team still in the playoff had 5 days to submit their names after they lost their game (or in tOSU's case, 5 days from Monday). If a head coach leaves, athletes have a new 30 day window from the day he leaves.

Not a lot of impact players left in the portal, and the ones BU was after have gone elsewhere. Whatever happened to recruiting juco players?

Of those Baylor players who have entered the portal and not transferred, will any of them be invited back?

We recruited a couple of JUCO guys last year, including an impact starter in Keaton Thomas. But the transfer portal has had a devastating impact on both JUCO and high school recruiting.

Guys who would have been easy takes by G5 programs in the past aren't even getting FCS offers -- and so on up (and down) the line. I've talked to a lot of frustrated high school coaches about it.
