Baylor (13-6; 5-3) sweeps Utah (11-8; 3-5) with a gritty road win in Salt Lake City. The Bears were led by Norchad Omier's 22 points and 12 rebounds. Next up for the Bears is a Tuesday night game in Provo, Utah, against BYU.
Positives
- Norchad Omier (39%) and VJ Edgecombe (43%) have been shooting the three well in conference play. We’ve needed that as Nunn (32%) and Wright (19%) have slumped from 3 during Big 12 action.
- Jalen Celestine makes a big difference with spacing. He’s such a threat that defenses have to account for his 3-point marksmanship, which opens up the offense for others.
- Foul shooting was good- Wright (8-8) and Omier (8-10) closed the game out at the line.
- The defense has been No. 4 in the Big 12 since conference play, which is an amazing feat with depth issues.
Needs Work
- Eleven turnovers isn’t a terrible number, but Edgecombe was really loose with the ball today.
- I wouldn’t trade the aggressiveness, but we have to avoid silly fouls like turning the ball over and then committing a foul right away out of frustration.
