Va. Tech hired Philip as their OC.

I loosely followed his stint at Tulsa, where his 2nd and 6th seasons were his best teams.

He spent one year at Auburn (2023) slightly improving the offense from 90th to 76th, but was given the heave-ho and didn't return for 2024.

I'm assuming he will run some version of the veer and shoot @ Va. Tech

Good for him. He was a great OC. I was a little surprised he didn't do better at Tulsa. I thought it was a great spot, conference, etc. for him to be able to get solid recruits, especially Texas kids. The under the radar or small school kids like he got at Baylor. I never expected him to be a top team there but at least top of the conference and winning.

By recent Tulsa standards he did pretty well there. Their main problem is they have either bad coaches or they get a good one who leaves after 2 years.

If memory serves me right Tulsa really got into some serious budgetary problems while he was there which made it hard to keep pace with AAC teams. Small private school trying to hang with UCF, Cincinnati, Memphis, Houston, etc.
