
Baylor Football’s Season-Opener Against Auburn Shifted to Friday, August 29
WACO, Texas – Baylor football’s 2025 season-opening game against Auburn has been selected to be played on Friday, August 29, it was announced Friday by the Big 12 Conference and its television partners, ESPN and FOX.
The Bears’ lid-lifting matchup against the Tigers is one of 10 Big 12 contests scheduled to shift to a Friday and is one of two Big 12 games against non-conference, Power Four opponents included in the changes. Network designations and kick-off times will be announced at a later date.
This will be the first meeting between Baylor and Auburn since 1976, with the Bears owning a 2-1-1 lead in the all-time series.
BU is coming off an eight-win season that culminated in a trip to the Kinder’s Texas Bowl. The Bears are one of just two teams in the nation who will play 11 Power Four opponents in 2025.
