The pressure will be very intense on McGuire going forward. That is the downside of bragging about how much you are paying players. I don't really see any other XII school that hypes their pay quite like Tech. I personally think their approach isn't going to serve the actual staff and perhaps as well the athletic administration very well. I'm not even a Tech partisan at all and I'm thinking for all this money they keep announcing they are spending, it is a imperative for them to make the XII title game this up coming season.
McGuire hasn't proven (an elite college HC) dick yet. But can't fault him for running for the cash while one can. Everyone else in his profession does....

He hasn't proven anything yet. My point though is that the folks in charge of doing all the PR about what they are paying new recruits are putting him in the position of having to now accomplish at least a conference title game or things are white hot for him if not over already based on their thinking. Keep in mind, other than the weird 5 way SWC tie in 94 we were also a part of, they have not won a conference title or played for one since the 50's in the Border Conference days. So they have an historical albatross around the neck of their collective psychology. That is why I say bragging about specific figures for this or that commitment may not be serving the staff longer term, if grand things aren't happening on the field.

Back to the Tech part of this thread... how does it work with the NIL money if the player transfers before the 3 years is up? Does he pay it back? I haven't seen a three-year deal just yet (maybe others have).

It depends on the contract, but secondary reports have indicated that universities have been reluctant to pursue NIL from recruits that transfer due to potential litigation and its impact on (1) sharing commercial information and (2) future recurring efforts.

I now much prefer watching the divas that play on Sundays. They are at least a tad bit more mature.

How would you like us to hold you accountable to this pledge? Since you are sacrificing so much, many of us want to know what we can do to help you meet your expectations.

Being an old dinosaur, I DO or anticipate liking utilizing technology. There was a time I couldn't do it. Now, you don't have to sacrifice losing valuable Saturday's you can enjoy other activities because Recording and watching or Deleting is a tool. CFB just ain't what it used to be. Starting my day at 8AM w/College Gameday until falling asleep at 11ish at night with CFB… not planning on it anymore. Hoping I'll have more BU games to watch versus delete. I only have X# of Saturdays left and I'm just worn out with "optimism" for a Saturday only to turn out can't sleep out of frustration. I haven't watched the NFL for thirty plus years. College was IT for me. "The only thing that is constant is change"… sometimes it's a hard pill to swallow.

the team greatly appreciates you turning your back on them and removing your support for them.
Will always root for Baylor Football to defeat their Fall foe on the gridiron. I am just one man. My opinion on the state of Baylor Football is insignificant and irrelevant. Baylor made this very clear to me in 2015 and beyond.

you gave up 4 tickets. Thats possibly 4 less baylor fans in the stands every game. 4 less loud bears helping create a home field advantage. But see ya down the road. You clearly were never a real fan. Fans dont turn their backs on their team for any reason, especially something so trivial as players legally get paid now

But your opinion also was clearly relevant enough for you to tell us about your choice to stop supporting the team voluntarily. And to be butt hurt over something a decade ago that has zero impact on this program currently. Im sorry the bear touched you
You are the perfect fan. No doubt. I admire your blind loyalty. As I told you, Baylor did not value me as a 22 season ticket holder either. It is done. In the past. It really does not matter at this point.

Evil flourishes when good men do nothing. My position is clear. And you? We shall see.
what? Blind loyalty? U serious Clark? I call out baylor on things all the time. But the one thing I dont do is stop supporting the players because I think the athletic dept is out to get me. Idk what the **** youre talking about with 2022 but clearly you didnt care when you renewed your tickets in 23 and 24

Agreed. It's starting to feel like Tech may be gearing up for a splash hire at HC if McGuire doesn't show meaningful improvement on the field, as the aggressive marketing and spending will catch the eyes of some prospective coaches that would have never given Tech a second glance in the past and they might as well strike while the iron is hot.

I think many of them think that. However Tech will find that just having an opening, if they create one, does not mean every big name or any big name for that matter will be begging for the job.

At the gym I saw some ESPN commentators giving their XII pre season picks. The highest I have seen tech picked is 3. Meaning finishing 3 in the XII to be clear. All the hype by the Tech partisans may get McGuire fired if these folks are rightZ

75% to football

20% to mens basketball

2% to women's basketball and baseball (that's about $400,000).

RD2,

I'm sure you are a good man. I also respect your decision regarding Baylor Football - but for the Love of God, why do you continue to post? Is it some form of self flagellation?

Agree with you, Jim. I still get angry when I think about what could have been. Baylor and Penn State are the two best examples of how not to and how to handle a scandal.

But it should be a good lesson of what can happen when you have weak leadership in place. I do have great respect for everyone that has maintained their loyalty through this mess. I tip my hat to all of you.

You still didn't answer the question of why you're still actively posting in a Baylor football program when you've declared your public removal of their support.
