Do not think for one minute that the BOR is unhappy with Rhule. I just recently spoke with a regent that I knew very well at Baylor and he informed me that he and other BOR members are happy with Rhule because:
1) He will change the football "culture" at Baylor.
2) Our "mission" is not football.
3) He portrays the clean image that Baylor wants.
He also told me that the current losses were a "blessing" because they took the media target off Baylor's back.
When the discussion came to Briles, he just said Briles had to go because of the football "culture" that he had brought in. When I asked about any specific or concrete violations that Briles had committed he could give me none, but kept referring to the "culture". After long wrangling, he conceded that "culture" included bringing in the "wrong" type of black athlete.
He claimed his opinion is shared by many other regents.
So dream on, Rhule is NOT going anywhere. And don't forget to count your "blessings". (/sarcasm)
