No team from a Group of 5 conference was ranked in the initial CFP rankings. If this were to happen in the final rankings, the committee would simply select what they believe is the best G5 conference champion to be the 12 seed.

And so it begins. The November SEC propaganda machine is going to be nauseating. Prepare yourselves. https://t.co/5tl1OYlw7K

Mack Rhoades says that Texas Tech wasn’t dinged too bad for their loss to ASU because they didn’t have their starting QB. This contrasts with their previous policy that an injured QB makes teams ineligible for the Playoff.

CFP chair Mack Rhoads says Oregon's metrics played a big part. Lowest strength of record of any of its Top 10 teams.

CFP Selection Committee chair Mack Rhoades: "We tried to help ESPN out with their ratings getting BYU and Texas Tech together with GameDay in Lubbock, so enjoy that."

Don't think that comes off as he wanted it to...

Wisconsin beat Washington today which makes the Big Ten record for Indiana's final regular season opponents 2-23.

Maryland: 1-5
Penn St: 0-6
Wisc: 1-5
Purdue: 0-7
Indiana played Michigan St (0-6) as well, so 5 of their 9 Big Ten conf opponents have a combined 2-29 record.

Named last year. Was a big discussion on these boards then.
Linda is also President of the NCAA Board of Governors.

Lane Kiffin makes the case for Texas A&M to be #1
— SEC Mike (@MichaelWBratton) November 10, 2025
"Texas A&M being No. 3, what more do you want them to do to be 1?"
"They went up to Notre Dame and won."
"What good did that do if that's not rewarded?
"They have the highest metrics of everybody and not No. 1." pic.twitter.com/NJ0m7qWVrw
Rhoades on Texas Tech: "We think their front seven is as good as any in the country." Offense held them back from top 5.

I do not understand the Notre Dame fascination at all. Notre Dame has a worse SOS (per ESPN) than BYU, one more loss, and can't match BYU's best win (13 v 17). Notre Dame should not be above Texas, Oklahoma, or BYU.

Miami very well could finish ranked higher than the ACC champ but miss the field while the ACC champ gets in.
— Chris Vannini (@ChrisVannini) November 12, 2025
Who knew that oversized conferences that don't have divisions would be a problem.
Texas A&M could make SEC champ game w/o playing Ole Miss, Bama, UGA, OU, Vandy.
— Ralph D. Russo (@ralphDrussoATH) November 12, 2025
GTech could make ACC title game w/o playing Miami, Lville, UVA, SMU, Duke.
Ohio St could make B1G title game w/o playing Oregon, Indiana, Iowa, USC.
This is not a good way to determine a champion.
Rhoades mentioned James Madison, Memphis, and Tulane as also being in the conversation with #24 USF for the 5th autobid. Surprised not to hear North Texas in that group.

I keep looking at Utah’s schedule to see if there’s something I’ve missed. Garbage non conference schedule, got spanked by Texas Tech, lost to BYU and best win over Arizona St who didn’t have their QB. This committee is out of its mind. https://t.co/BjcVRHuq0H
