It's always good to get your best player rattled in a key game against a conference opponent over a very, very trivial moment. In the Athletic article, it's heartening to see Baylor's coaching staff come to Trigg's and Coach Anderson's defense. There are some good port-a-poties across the street from McLane. Rhodes can find one and watch the Utah game in private.

Dave is smart enough to know not to bite the hand that feeds him. This was his first and probably last head coaching gig at the P4 level
So thankful that Trigg did not retaliate. He would've been hung out to dry and likely had his career ruined, just to save Mac's reputation.
Does the article mention Mason Mill by name or make a clear reference indicating it was him?
I would have assumed the coach involved was actually Jarrett Anderson not Miller, and given he's Trigg's actual position coach.

It doesn't. This was a different incident than that. I don't think the article mentions that Anderson was the coach that got into it with Mack during this incident, but it's at least heavily implied based on what Triggs dad was saying

Yeah, this was really not a good look for Mack as a man in a leadership position at a supposedly Christian university that makes seven figures, but we also only know one side of the story. Nothing here makes me think that Baylor is going to have any interest in moving on from him

Much respect to Trigg for staying with the program after something like this. Amazing how Baylor consistently treats their football athletes with such disrespect (WSJ story, etc). If Mack is allowed to stay without a formal public apology, it's time for those with football season tickets to consider boycotting renewals until significant changes are made to the athletic department. It is unacceptable to have this continue.
Over this incident the only potential firing necessary is potentially the AD. I suppose we need to know more about what happened. I personally want to know if the video depicts exactly the altercation as described, or if what was described embellished what happened or down played what happened.

Why the need for video? There were multiple family, coaches, players as witnesses. Baylor did not dispute the findings. A coach was fired. One thing Baylor needs is to stop trying to BS your way out of problems.

I can forgive an isolated incident as a momentary lack of judgment, but in this story alone, he had two separate altercations with two separate people at two separate times.That indicates a chronic inability to control one's emotions.
How many other incidents like this have there with him that went unreported?
If this story is true, I want Mack Rhoades fired. The absolute last thing we need, with our history, is an athletic director bringing our university bad publicity with stupid, off-the-field nonsense.
We have to continue to demand transparency and voice our concerns. This is the time for fans to unite, because the buy out should be off the table and Baylor athletes, students, fans, and community deserve better. As to the question of how many more incidents, I cannot say, but if I were a betting person, I'd say there are probably many.
I think this needs to be leaked to the big market media outlets. Although, they probably wouldn't be interested since we no longer play the Longhorns.
