SicEm365 community,

We are writing to give you a heads up that Baylorfans.com filed a lawsuit against SicEm365 late last week, claiming we have not fully complied with, and allegedly made misrepresentations relating to, the parties' 2017 contract for the non-premium boards. At all times, SicEm365 has acted in good faith to comply with the contract and strongly denies all of Baylorfans' claims.

We are confident that we have handled our dealings with Baylorfans.com with integrity, and we are disappointed and surprised that its owner Jason Stewart never approached us to discuss his complaint before retaining legal counsel and taking legal action. While SicEm365 is confident in our position, we would prefer to reach an amicable resolution with Baylorfans.com rather than remain in a dispute.

While the litigation is ongoing, our ability to update you will be limited, but we will do so when feasible. Thank you for your continued participation in and support of SicEm365.

hopefully not but we do lose money monthly with our current agreement. We will see how it plays out.

Thanks, Ashley.

I cruise both sides to keep up with news, but mostly post here. The amount of hatred toward us "poors" from so many users has always baffled me. It's just weird. A lot of them just don't "get" the old guard bfans. That's fine. They don't have to come here and get the vapors.

But it sure seems we were essential to helping achieve the massive growth they have enjoyed over the past several years. We didn't have much choice in the matter, so it would be pretty messed up if this side should cease to exist because they don't think they need us around any more. They would be wrong.

We have a good thing. I hope it doesn't get screwed up.

Maybe the solution is to revive Baylor Fans as a free site. Since you guys lose money and have been up front you would prefer not to do it anymore. Maybe a win/win.

I'm confused. When I search Baylorfans.com it reverts here. Was the free side here actually Baylorfans.com?

I remember Jason from the early days of Big 12 what is the connection between the two? Traffic has really been nonexistent this year
Thank you Miami Hurricanes. 10-3. :)

They merged a while back. https://sicem365.com/s/1434/sicem365com-baylorfanscom-reach-merger-agreement

Baylorfans.com redirects here. In essence, baylorfans ceased to exist but all of its users were migrated here

It was definitely a lot of fun there. There were only a few people there who took everything so seriously, yet we could also talk some sports.

Different kind of deal. Lots of laughs.

I think what Ashley said is that they lose money on the free side with their "current agreement" - that implies to me that that the old BaylorFans owner(s) may still have some sort of revenue share or something? I click on the ads once in a while here just to help drive a little revenue this way. So, maybe the current agreement needs to be revised somehow?

Likely something along those lines.

I know that Baylorfans still has a facebook presence of its own.

It's just unfortunate that there is now a narrative by a lot of users that it's the "poors" that are dragging down 365, and a certain segment just says good riddance.

But I don't think that's what the lawsuit is about.

I would be surprised of the free side was the primary reason the overall site is losing money. Likely it hit a peak of membership a few years ago, partially driven by new paying members from the free side. But mostly because of interest in Baylor football when things were going well.

Now there is a lot of frustration with college football in general in the new era, and more recently, fatigue from Baylor fans on the trajectory the last couple of years.

I was never a big recruiting guy, so I never had any interest in paying for a recruiting site. You see so many big prospects become underwhelming players, and vice versa. They are just a lot of names until you see them blossom as good college players, and the odds weren't great.

It was only really fun when there was one big recruiting date, like recruiting Christmas, to see who signs on the dotted line, and sometimes there is a big surprise bonus guy. But that was about the extent of my recruiting interest. Then it was just on to going to Spring games and seeing the new guys and watching them grow.

I used to go to high school games and pick out who the college potential guys might be an see what happens. I liked getting photos of players with big potential and hoping to photograph them again in college or even the NFL. But I never paid much attention to rankings.

Now the recruiting game is so complicated and not a lot of fun. You find a guy or develop a guy, and then he's gone to a higher ranked team. Or you go out and buy a better player with high hopes that sometimes works out, and sometimes never produces. But he wasn't with your program from the beginning, so you don't have the experience of seeing him develop as a key player for your team and having that bond.

I just like good sports discussion, especially football. There are a lot of places for that. But this is really the only place for Baylor discussion among Baylor fans. I don't want to see it go.

I'm with you on recruiting - it was never much my thing - but in today's portal situation with no guard rails, recruiting classes are meaningless.

My thanks to this board for letting us know about the lawsuit, rather than sweeping it under the rug. Your candor is refreshing and appreciated.

I won't speculate who is right or wrong. I am a lawyer, but I'm not a judge.

My thanks to everyone involved with Sic'Em365.

As one who migrated from there once the transition was made, BaylorFans did have a pay thread, called The Bears Den. I'm not clear on what exactly has transpired or why, but I hope they can reach an amicable resolution.

I can't even remember a lot of the names of the usual posters over there. I kinda wish I could go back and review the olden days, but then again probably best to not go there.

If CDA is getting a buyout, I propose he sends some money this board's way to compensate for lost revenue from the owners.

I was Judge on those boards. Lots of great arguments with BUBEAR the shower guy. There was a good poster from Tech whose user name escapes me and the guy who played the piano and had a talk show in Houston lol.

I wished Jason would post the user names. Blast from the past. Those boards were hot during the Kevin Steele years.

That's was my first thought - people pay money to discuss this ****ing dumpster fire?

That actually sums it up ... Tech's BSD's can spend $1B on a football team ... our BSD's can pay $4.99 / month on "inside scoop" on a perpetual ****ty athletic program.

And yes ... I was around during the ... austin360? days in pre-99 ... went to Assassin's first lunch ... and watched the Kevin Steele Boston College debacle in Dallas on 75 ... maybe near the golden Shell-Sheratons.

One wife ... myriad jobs ... two degrees ... two states ... myriad cities since then.

Still remember meeting Grill Rat, Plano Bear, bularry ...

Curious how the site loses money monthly in the agreement? Why not increase the pay cost slightly to offset it? Or stop the $1 offer (if it is still around)? It seems like there are enough ads to offset the operating costs. Is running the free board really a loss of money? Or is it because of how much is paid to the old site that there is a loss of money?
