Saw the same and never in my life have seen a head football coach act like he was ok getting his ass beat.

You sure it would matter? Pretty much each of his recruiting classes and even portal classes were rated as high and mostly higher than the last two teams who both beat us by 20+ points.

The announcers said the Arizona coaches in looking at film this week said they couldn't believe this team was only 5-5.

The two coaches had a long, and seemingly serious conversation, much longer than you normally see in the aftergame meetings. The smiles came from both coaches at the end. If you were in the conversation or could read lips perhaps you could tell us why they smiled. As I said in another thread, there is plenty you can carp on with DA, but this is just taking things out of context to pile on. 15 yard flag on this.

What would you expect an opposing coach to say when you are going up against a team that has all the problems we have right now? You certainly don't want your team to take them lightly......which perhaps is what they were doing today in the first half.

The more I think about it, the more I dislike this administration. The fact that none of the monied donors are willing to buy out Aranda is likely a testament to the fact that the Board of Regents and administration may have bigger issues with competence than the public is aware of.

No this was said during the production meeting the announcers have with the assistants on Thursday or Friday before the game . Not their team.
Would it matter? Maybe not, but can't get any worse and he really doesn't deserve keeping it.

The optics are terrible.
Given the current state of the program, you probably don't want to be seen laughing it up after a loss.
Especially after you just got whacked by 24 points.
With a good chunk of the fan base wanting you gone, you're just giving 'em more fuel for the fire.

If you want to chat it up at great length and have a good laugh, then you probably want to do it out of sight of the cameras, or over the phone.

Strange, but that might be the most emotion I've ever seen DA show. Job security and earning millions without accountability to a dumpster fire program and record will do that.

Hours spent are not showing up on the game days. Just because you enjoy working with kids and playing a game the desire to win needs to be there and Dave isn't showing any desire to do anything but observe and fire assistants.

No one said they want to lose. Just that he doesn't hate to lose.
Sort of like he has grown used to it and it no longer bothers him. Sort of like a coach, player, or even fan that has lost the belief they can win and when something goes bad they think here we go again and after another loss just move on but don't dwell on it.

Normally I'd agree with him but this was probably a genuine reaction out of shock. They simply can't believe this team could be this bad.. and they're right.

Other Coaches love Aranda because they know it's a win on their schedule. We should not go to a bowl even if we did beat Houston. But I don't believe we can beat U of H. But I believe Ms Livingstone and all BOR members should be forced to attend that game. The crowd is going to be overwhelmingly red and very empty stadium.

And they cannot sit up in their luxury suites. They have sit among the plebes.
Even if they all were at the game in their luxury suites they would be at the bars up there, eating food, talking, and not actually watching the game or noticing the empty seats.
