Oh man . I usually don't have time for this level interaction, but your response is classic. AB was in Waco October 30 and about 40 or more of his former players showed up and absolutely love him. I've met two who played for GT over the last five years and they love Briles and can't stand Coach Mouse.

Briles' players love him. Just ask Petty who was there with him. Ask Terrence Ganaway.

Then some idiot named Knuckles will come on here and say "ok, about the whole rape scandal thing ... well, Johnny Jefferson was a drug addict."

It is TDS level bizarro impressionistic nonsense.

you've routinely dismissed the LOIC finding and its relevance to Briles' firing (and the JJ situation speaks directly to those problems)...so I guess I can't truly call this response a non sequitor because it does track, at least with your track record of poorly constructed apologia for your pal Art.

Aloha, Bob!

Uh huh. "Okay, the whole rape scandal may have been overblown, but somebody was on drugs!" is nonsense bordering on mental illness.

What LOIC finding? The one that was ultimately not upheld? I can find a trove of articles from 2021 saying the NCAA did not find lack of institutional control against Baylor or Briles because (i) sexual assault reporting issues were campus-wide and (ii) the NCAA was reluctant to punish Baylor for the misbehavior of certain of its regents.

Why do you insist on comparing your 1980 team to Briles two B12 title teams?
Enjoy a good dick measuring?
I'd put my life's earnings that those 2 squads would have bent you over similiar to how Bama did in that pathetic bowl showing by the 80 squad.

You guys are the ones playing the comparison card because I am blowing your apology tour away in every conceivable, pitiful excuse or comparison you can come up with. Go back and re-read the acknowledged sickness you boys have had for years. Y'all don't care about the team. Y'all are all grabbing your tampons and trying to prop up Briles. 10 years of FAILURE!

Finally, after settling for a pitiful high school gig and then some foreign, international joke, he lands a whopper. Division II in Portales, New Mexico. Who knew Portales had a TSTI clone? Mascot? Name of the welding/agricultural school?

You guys are similar to the UT marketing machine still trying to get us to believe little Archie is Heisman worthy.

It's in the record books. Go look. We did not lose a conference game much less get blown out by OSU and WV. We did not have a CO-Championship. We won all of our games no matter how bad a few teams were.
'We did not have to pray for a team to lose on the final week of the season to give us our title.

I am content and never waste time re-playing anything in my mind. I don't cry about the SanJose loss or the Alabama mauling. The most talented team I played on was the 3-8 Baylor team of 1978.

You boys are fighting a losing battle. Please, do yourselves and everyone on SicEm a favor and turn that Baylor green into Greyhound green.

Let me help you nimrod.

It's better to post the following:

Baylor played Alabama in 1979 & 1981.

In '79, in Birmingham, the Bears lost to Alabama 0-45.
In '81, in Dallas, the Bears lost to Alabama 2-30.

Baylor has lost back-to-back games to Alabama by the combined score of 2-75.

Use that in your future attempts at disparaging Baylor Football prior to you savior arriving in 2012. Don't count 2008-2011.

But no one is even putting down 1980 they won a conference title and that's a successful year pretty much anywhere and probably especially here

Have I told any lies? TCU got the exact same trophy as BU. The difference you ask?

TCU blew out #9 Ole Miss. Baylor stumbled around and got embarrassed by #7 Michigan State

In 2013 we had to have #18 OU beat #6 Oklahoma State to give us the title. We promptly go out to Glendale and lose to a commuter school.

For 10 years I have defended some great Bear teams that played long ago. Some of these were great teams. I have been quick to take up for these teams as they have been used in a manner that was supposed to make me angry. It did not work. I have rallied to protect those teams and to bring up valid points that show there was very little difference in the average fan's admiration for all of these Baylor teams. Each era has their favorites and that is understandable.

I'll argue with you. I was there.

2 field goals in 1st Q and then we got a safety on them. 2-6 after 1Q.
Alabama TD in 2nd Q made it 2-13 at the half

Another Alabama field goal in 3Q made it 2-16 into the 4th Q.

2 Alabama scores in the 4th Q. 2-30

Totally dominated. 54 yards rushing on 35 carries by the Bears to their 241 on 67 carries by Tide.

Bears turned the ball over 7 times to 1 for the Tide.

What facts and evidence? Tevin Elliott was convicted. Sam Ukwuachu's case has been convicted and overturned so many times my head is spinning. I don't know where it is now in the process. Neither one played a down after they were accused.

This is inline with what other college football teams have faced such as UT in 2014.

The problem is how Baylor handled it. They blamed a wider campus scandal on the football team. Patty Crawford and Dunham, the lawyer for most of the Jane Does, stated this. Baylor blamed the black "thug" football players over its frat boy legacy students and their inept administrators.

So, literally (to borrow your valley girl parlance), the LOIC conviction that you have been crowing about forever did not happen.

He also was not fired for cause, as you might recall.

Numerous regents also testified that not only did he never cover up sexual assault, nor could they point to any violations of the school's policy in that regard.

But JJ was a drug addict. So we paid Art $18 million to leave, and we put a bullet in the head of our football program. We were certainly within our rights to do so, but it was absolutely ****ing stupid. Unsurprising that you think it was "literally" brilliant.

BS! My "problem" with Art you mention above started at a BU golf outing where upon meeting him again for the first time in 32 years he clammed up and refused to acknowlwedge a small crime I witnessed him commit during my University of Houston recruiting visit. He became very distant when I told the story in front of a small group at the golf outing.. One other thing happened that December weekend in 1976 in Houston that caused me alarm. I refuse to go into details but that was the reason I stayed away and refused myself to "engage".

One other opportunity came up in Atlana when my son and I were there to watch the Baylor vs. Duke Elite 8 game. Not worth going into details but it was selfish and uncalled for. It got my attention but again I passed it off.

I did not seek any special treatment. I don't care about developing a relationship with coaches. As a matter of fact I shy away from getting to know coaches.

Our failure to engage never bothered me. What bothered me was piss poor defense, piss poor special teams and leading the nation in penalties. All signs of something going wrong.

I didn't try to tear Art down. He tore himself down. I could have told him how to survive the Baylor situation but his ego would not allow it.

I believe that Art left the Baylor BOR zero to very little room to work with. He created that sucking sound and it got him and pulled him under.

As one who helped build up a Baylor program I have a little bit different expectation than you or your Stepford Girls. I refuse to sit idly by nodding my head in agreement like a puppet that all is well and Art did nothing wrong. He tarred and feathered MY program I helped build!!!! Baylor was a stepping stone for him and he ground his heel into our faces.

I was there for both games. Our rental car got broken into in Birmingham while we were in the stadium. It was a fourth quarter collapse if I recall. The Cotton Bowl fiasco was known in the first two possessions by the Bears. We were outmanned badly.

We have a very weak record against top 10 teams. Some use to rah rah rah that we beat number so and so. The problem was at the end of the season the so and so's were no longer ranked.

We exaggerate how bad those defenses were I just looked it up and they were 4th in the big 12 during that stretch 2013-2015. Also who cares as long as you win. 60-45 win counts the same as 40-25 or whatever

Also I think but don't fully remember that if you broke it down in points per play/drive the defense graded out better but the offenses in the big 12 were so good that year and played fast. Not to mention our offense would score quick and that leads to more plays for the defense. Not saying they were good defensively necessarily just not as bad as we remember

This is exactly the problem that we have with you and your view on Briles. You feel like you have to defend those teams when we celebrate them too. Yeah, we hate the San Jose loss, but our disappointment is probably not near the heartache that you and other members of the team had.

The problem is that you see any success afterwards as tearing down those teams. You have made it clear you did not like Art because he didn't engage you as a past player in the way you thought he should. Due to that you feel like your success was overshadowed and you don't like it. This is why you try to tear him down. You blindly supported the board tearing down CAB because you didn't like him, instead of looking critically at the information out there.

So the first time meeting him in 32 years. You brought some small crime that he supposedly did as a college student in front of people he is supposed to be impressing, and you wonder why he wasn't friendly towards you. You say that there something else that did not sit right with you during that visit. HIS PARENTS DIED TWO MONTHS BEFORE YOUR VISIT YOU IDIOT. He had the weight of the world on him, and probably did stuff he was probably not proud of doing. Most of us would have in similar situations.

In your brilliance you decided to bring up things that no one would really be proud of when he was supposed to be impressing donors. Do you not have any social wherewithal? You wonder why he wasn't friendly towards you after you brought up sh*t he did as a stupid college student whose parents just died while going to watch him play. No wonder you continually use the same crude phrases over over because you don't have two brain cells to rub together and that is how you and the other Neanderthals that you know talk.

Or better yet. Every time he feels the need to remind people he played at Bu 50 freaking years ago. As if anyone gives a ****

No need to remind anyone. You all know. It was 45 years ago to be more precise.

You remember.

The first Baylor team to win 10 games during an era when there were only 11 games.

A defense that gave up only 7 TDs in the entire conference games instead of 10 in one f'ing game!

A defense that held 4 teams to under 175 yards of total offense.

A defense that held TCU to 16 yards of rushing O.
A defense that held Texas Tech to -36 yards of rushing O. Yes, minus 36 yards.
A defense that held UT to 35 yards of rushing O. That was on 40 carries.
A defense that held A&M to 92 yards of rushing O.

As Donald likes to say.............."you haven't seen anything like it in the history of the world!

True Baylor fans give a ****. That team went 8-0 in conference play. Nobody tied us. We didn't have to pray for another team to win so we could be called conference champs.

and then Bruce Springsteen wrote a song for you.
