And anyone defending her "statement" is as clueless as she is. Is there no one with an ounce of good sense and the slightest understanding of the situation giving her advice in an area in which she has no clue? Where are our interim AD's? Who's in charge of the AD search? I'm afraid it's hopeless.

Lenard is abusive. I know of 3 instances in which players have left the program. How stupid and disconnected our are AD's.

The reality is that these top recruits were likely going to flip either way, whether Aranda was back or canned and Baylor's coaching search ensues.

The bigger problem is there is no leader coming in fresh to appeal to new recruits or potentially excite those that are still on the fence, as well as the current players likely considering the portal.

It's the worst f both worlds.

It's a terrible situation. But if I had to chose between having Aranda back and no recruits, and having him gone and no recruits… I'd take the latter.

I don't understand this thread. Players may flip or stay. Firing Aranda ensures us that players flip. Unlike us, these players don't love Baylor. They learn to love it after they're here.

They commit to us based on the relationship and vision created by the coach. Firing Aranda (and yes, he's been horrible) within 3 weeks of signing day Penn States this class. (13 de-commitments).

The statement wasn't an extension. It was a "we're not firing him this year because everyone else did, and next year is cheaper."

The decommits will happen because they know Aranda is getting fired next year.

We have co interim AD's. Jovan and Cody Hall.

I mean.. they have to conduct business.. they were hired for a job.. most coaching contracts run to December 1st.

Who else is supposed to make decisions in the athletic department?

They absolutely were NOT hired to make contract decisions. They were hired 1) to meet Title IX and carry note pads.

Who else is supposed to handle the day to day business of the athletic department? They learned under Mack for years.

You and I know the football decisions as far as coaches is above their pay grades.

Some of the things y'all express outrage about baffles the hell outta me .

We have enough issues to be worried about the women's soccer coach.

The President obviously ok'd this extension the interim did. An interim extending a successful HCs contract is not the same thing as the interim firing a HC and staff and then finding a new one.

In 2016 the BOR fired everyone over something the secular universities regularly deal with and don't kill themselves over like we did. They can fire Aranda right now and name an interim coach from the existing coaches.
