Watching Cowboys game and didn't realize he's on Detroit Lions staff as passing game coordinator

Very solid 12 years as Stanford Head Coach.

5 conference championships and a second place finish in Pac 12.

I wouldn't be opposed kicking the tires on his interest.

Only 53 yrs old.

And his record his final 4 years at Stanford was only 14-28 and second half of his tenure which was a 6 year period, his record was worse than Aranda's 6 years here.

What was his record for his tenure at Stanford?

It's strange how he really tailed off at the end of his career. I'm not sure what accounts for that.

He would definitely fit the mold Baylor leadership wants right now.

Likely would be better, but I don't know about much better. Stanford may be a tough place to win these days. But maybe he just sorta flamed out.

Do we want to try our luck again already at the bald Californian trough?

As I like to say.. you have to put the picture in the frame.

NIL started in summer 2021. At a school like Stanford that's probably more academic focused than any school in the Power 5 at that time those were some tough seas to navigate.

Which affects not just recruiting new talent.. but retaining current talent. And if I remember they were always losing players to other schools.

Also .. I mean.. you'd take those first 6 years right? At a school like Stanford he probably got a long leash.

Most successful coaches whove been at one place a long time usually tail off at the end. Patterson and Gundy are two that come immediately to mind .

Not sure anyone is scrambling to hire either of those guys either.

Of the 3 though...Shaw would be the one I would take.
