Loss to ut-Austin
Loss to Miami in first round at home.
0-1 against upper half of SEC.
No SEC Championship Game appearance.

27 years since their last conference title

86 years since their last, and only, national title. (a national title that USC also claims)

Best season in aggie history
Still lost to UT
Still no conference championship (or even championship game berth)
Lose first round playoff game at home scoring 3 whopping points

With today's loss, it removes the possibility of an Aggy-Indiana national championship game that would have featured 2 of the 3 teams that lost to Bill Beall.

For all the hype, the aggys basically went 2-2 when not playing the bottom half of the SEC or a cupcake non-con opponent.

Glass houses. The Aggies have been to the College Football Playoff. The Baylor Bears never have. Plain and simple.

Stop being stupid. Briles had the first team out in 2013, the second team out in 2014, and the 2015 team would've made it without losing our quarterbacks. That was in a 4 team playoff era. Rhule and Sleepy Dave Aranda each would have made a 12- team playoff. And we've got 3X the number of conference championships as Aggy since the SWC folded 30+ years ago.

You boys can laugh and make fun of the Ags all you want. I ALWAYS root for a Texas team on the National stage.

As far as collapsing on that National stage Baylor has done it plenty of times. I know because I participated in a 2-30 mauling on National TV.

Having to watch that thug Michael Irvin on the sidelines during the final couple of minutes was severe punishment

Michael Irvin came and spoke to son's 10-year-old football team 30 years ago and gave a speech that forever changed my opinion of him.

In his defense, the last INT was not on him, as much as it was on the playcall.

The correct call would have been to move him outside of the pocket and give him a run/pass option.

A designed timing route into a tight window, with your season on the line, is probably not the best call to make there.

Even the commentators on the post-game show (one of which was a QB himself) said as much.

Good points. Even excluding the '15 team (which likely was going to be the all time best BU team ever had Seth Russell not gone down) we would've appeared in 4 playoffs by now had the 12 team format been instituted in 2013.

30 years ago? Wasn't that just about the time that police found Irvin, a teammate, and two women in an Irving, Texas, hotel room with cocaine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia? He was indicted on felony cocaine possession charges and faced up to 20 years in prison. Irvin ultimately pleaded no contest to the charges, receiving four years of deferred probation, a $10,000 fine, and community service.

In 2000, Irvin was arrested in Plano and charged with misdemeanor possession of less than 2 ounces of marijuana when police raided an apartment.

In 2001, a year after his NFL retirement, Irvin was arrested again for felony cocaine possession in a Dallas apartment.

In November 2005, Irvin was pulled over for a traffic stop in Plano and arrested on an outstanding warrant for an unpaid speeding ticket. Police searched his vehicle and found a pipe and plastic bags with marijuana residue, leading to a misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia charge. He said the pipe belonged to a friend.

In March 2017, Irvin was investigated by Fort Lauderdale police in Florida for alleged sexual battery.

I could go on but this is not what I exposed my kids to when they were 10 years old. My opinion of him is the exact opposite of your opinion of him.

I've never been a Cowboy fan so I never cared one way or another. It's been about 30 years since the Plowboys went to a Super Bowl.

About the same time Irvin started getting caught.

At SC we heard for years what a joke of a conference the PAC was. So if the B1G and SEC are now, as well, who is the best conference? The XII?

Personally I think it's less about the conference than it is the OOC teams that teams within any given conference are wiling tol play. Some teams are better at scheduling better schools OOC than others.

Stating the obvious, I know, but every conference, in any given season, has two or three teams who are really good, some who are .500+, and then the rest who aren't great. It is what it is. The question is who are they scheduling OOC. And which teams do the best at that?

I'd be interested to see which teams have the best record against the better teams they play? Including the better teams in conference in any given year, as well as their better OOC foes in that same year.

Next year SC has Ohio St., Indiana, and Oregon in conference. ND is still an OOC contender. Those four alone could (will?) create problems. But again, it's a typical schedule. Except one of our OOC teams is a contender. And Fresno St. who we also have next year, went 8-4 this year.

UCLA, while not a real thorn in our side lately, has rivalry-induced ramifications so whoever knows on that front. But that's the case for all teams who have pesky rivals. I will be interested to see how the Bruins do the next two seasons considering their OOC schedules aren't bad, and they play neither OSU or Indiana the next two seasons. They do have Oregon, but that's it.

And depending on who Penn St. secures as a coach, and if it is Campbell, who knows what happens there. That could be a problem.

It will be rough. I doubt any of the big four we're playing go belly up. The question will be how well do the other teams fare next year.

The other OOC team we have is Louisiana, so hopefully that is at least a game of some respite.

Baylor made their position clear back in 2016 when David Garland said "Baylor University is not an institution of football."
