Interesting, probably 5 or 6 months after the tornado.

I have a copy of the 1950 Round Up that covers the construction and opening of the stadium.

It was actually used as a staging point for clean up operations after the tornado.

I grew up going to church two blocks from the stadium. The church was built in 1948. People there said the area around the church was called Mesquite Hill because of all the mesquite trees around before development. Spent many seasons parking at the church and walking to the stadium.

The running bear on the front of Baylor Stadium reminded me that the Circle Drive-In Theater had a running bear on the outside of the screen facing LaSalle.

My father may have been working the concessions that day (child labor laws were a little different then lol)

I went to games in that stadium in 1953. Dad was principal of Lampasas HS and Mom was a BU grad so she went to Homecoming every year.
